All academic now as the Carling Cup game scheduled to follow a few days after that Leeds defeat was postponed, but as a City fan i saw it as a bit of a double-edged sword for us.
Part of me was, of course, happy to see the rags get buttf****d on prime-time TV by a team, who, about 12 months ago i watched getting turfed out of the Cup by Histon. ;D
On the other hand, it would've been better for City had the rags squeezed through because if Ferguscum had put that team out at Comstad we would've been 3 or 4 up by halftime.
There are 3 teams that any manager of the rags cannot afford to lose to at any time. Ferguscum has already lost to 2 of them this season ( Liverpool, Leeds) so hopefully we can give him the full set! ;D

Well i'm not going overboard. As Mancini said, we now have a 51% chance of going through and no doubt the evil empire will be doing it's damndest to strike back when we fetch up at the swamp next week.
We had a not dissimilar pen given against us at Everton last week when Micah Richards grabbed Saha outside the area, but as play continued into the box the ref and linesman called it there.
Maybe there is some sort of directive gone out that if an attacker has his progress impeded on his way into the box but his momentum gets him into the box then the infringement will be given there. Sets a couple of dangerous precedents in my view and you can imagine there will be a few wonderful "dives" into the area from a long way out! (imagine pulling Christiano Ronaldo's shirt on the half-way line then find yourself facing a pen!)
What really pleased me that night was Stafford Rangers beating Telford 2-0. When City beat the rags it's always a good night, but when the Boro' turn Telford over as well it's a GREAT night! ;D ;D ;D
