As everyone in the world is skint at the moment the decision has been made that I will be having a tinpot stag party!
To keep it local for the majority it will be at Leading Drove Yaxley on 6th March for a UCL Premier Division match.
The objective being to get some money over the bar and tea bar for my home town club.
Tinpotters are more than welcome to come along and tick another ground off their list.

6th March!
Count me in too. I am assuming that you'll get pride of place in one of your dugouts! ;D
Nice ground. Is the clubhouse sorted out yet?

I'll pass if you don't mind. You don't really want wimmin tagging along anyway, do you? I'll be watching (hopefully) the Dons thrashing Alty that day. Plus Yaxley and Peterborough in general have painful memories for me.

Morning all,
Either kit is acceptable The dug outs are now finished... the rest of the development no so much ! Buses from Peterborough every twenty minutes.
Why does Yaxley hold such bad memories for you?

Why does Yaxley hold such bad memories for you? It's the whole bluddy area, Peterborough in particular (although I coped last summer with the other tinpotters). I was married to a Peterboroughite* for a number of years, and Yaxley was the route we used to take in and out of town. *Basically I have no wish to meet the barsteward ever again.

Given the national railways inability to provide a decent service to Peterborough and, more importantly, back on the same day - I think that a stopover might be my only options.
What are my best betS?

I tell a lie, there's a 752 train - but that's still crap.

Well. I have been thinking about this. My journey is probably the shortest - but if I use public transport, I will be on the road for most of the weekend. ;D SO. I was going to suggest that I meet you in Peterborough and drive you to Yaxley anyway. And either you sleep in a dugout, or you can stay in the wilds of Kettering-Adjacent & get a train home on the Sunday. It means I won't be able to drink anything stronger than tea; but I was resigned to having to drive anyway.
