Does anyone remember what the original thread was about? I thought not. Fprgive me for a moment while I remind you. According to the laws of the game the referee is the only arbiter for the duration of a game. The sole purposes of the fourth official are to hold up boards telling how much added time there is in a half (signalled by the ref) and to take the abuse of every home/away team coaching person about why someone 50 yards away made a certain decision ... in their opinion ... which might be a tad biased
