TINPOT ALERT!! It's like when Graeme Hick smashes a six over the New Road Stand ;D Allegedly the biggest ever hit was made at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, many years ago. [No details, but] Someone hit the ball into the Rail Sidings near the ground. The ball landed in a Goods Truck, and it travelled several hundred miles (or so the story goes.......) But yes! Imagine the chaos when a ball goes on to the Dual Carriageway. It's not just the ball bouncing in the crown of the road, it's the sheer terror about a child following to retrieve it.... |

One has actually been there.  'Tis right nest to Bedford's ground, beyond what might be referred to as their overflow car park. You can see the place from the motorway. Tinpot with ambition... ;D |
