Dirty sod, how much did you pay for that and what's her number? 30 pieces of silver, and Kings Cross 666.

Sal is clearly the tool of the devil.
Bad news for god fearing forumers.
Good news for people of demonic faith though.

It doesn't affect you either way as you don't technically believe in Sal. Though that itself could be aukward for yourself.

Going back to the original topic of this thread(!) I had a most odd dream the other night, where I was on a coach trip to Salisbury Cathedral. I've never been there in real life, but in my dream it looked quite a lot like the real thing except that instead of being an actual building, it was cut into the stone of an absolutely enormous cliff. To get there, you had to drive along a very narrow road along the front of the cliff face with no barriers separating you from a 100-foot drop (where on earth did I get a cliff like that in Salisbury? ). In my dream, I'd been there once before and I was a bit scared by the fact that the coach had stopped right on the edge of the cliff and had almost gone over, so this time around I made sure I was sitting right at the back by the emergency exit. When we got there, the driver misjudged slightly when stopping and, yep you guessed it, one of the front wheels went over the edge and the coach started to slip very slowly towards oblivion (just like the movies). I dived straight for the emergency door, but the driver spoke into a mic saying "Stay on the coach- it'll be safer for the moment." I hesitated for a second, by which time it was too late to save myself, which I could have done otherwise. As the coach plummeted earthwards, I remember just thinking "I'm about to die. I'm about to die" over and over again. Lesson learned: don't listen to what people tell you!

Lesson learned: don't listen to what people tell you! What did they say? "Here, have another cheese sandwich."?

Going back to the original topic of this thread There are actually a couple of cliffs around Salisbury - there's one in a chalk pit not far from the famous Bemerton Heath Harlequins ground, and is probably that big if you count the 20-foot deep water at the bottom. (Everything is 'chalk' down this way.) There's another in nearby Harnham which is almost equally vivid and dramatic too. If you watched telly, I'd say you drew some of this imagery from a very intelligent, sensitive drama made a couple of years ago with Timothy Spall where a group of kids from London visit our Cathedral, and which involves a bit of minor Coach-near-cliff action. It was an allegory then too. www.bbc.co.uk/drama/mrharvey/Combined with the ubiquitous final scene of "The Italian Job", perhaps?
