Have also seen him play on the last day of the Ashes test at the Oval a few years back when the Aussies picked up the Ashes again. Sadly i was in the worst possible position to watch him bowl as the angle meant you couldd'nt see the turn (

lol. Recent cricketing performances would lead you to believe that! If yer interested it was low down in the corner by the changing rooms so not the greatest view for observing bowling. Interestingly my dad made a very good point about Shane Warne and LBW's. How many do you reckon he gets entirely on the basis of an Umpire thinking, oh it's Shane, that'll have tuerned massively like it always does and hit the stumps, when in fact it may not have turned so much and a lesser spinner may not have got the LBW decision. Granted it's a hard call to make but my Dad has been an avid cricket fan for all of his career and probably seen a good few hundred of his wickets and he seemed to think he had a point and i reckon he's onto something too. Ah yes, if you fancy a laugh... www.youtube.com/watch?v=8c3CeAKdDPQ

That's pretty good! I'm a bit of a fan of Indian music anyway, living where I do I get a fair bit of exposure to it!

But Warney being a leg spinner means he often aims for the rough outside leg stump, which rules LBW out. As far as I can tell, most LBWs from off spinners come from the arm ball which pitches in line and shoots straight on, often keeping low. So a batsman, particularly a tail-ender, will play a forward defensive anticipating some leg-spin, and the ball will keep straight and crash into the pad. Having said that, without studying Warney's LBW shouts, I can't tell if my theory is correct or not! ;D (incidentally, reminds me of a common cruel jibe against Ashley Giles: a very accurate bowler but he uses that arm ball of his too often....about 4 out of 6 balls in an over just go straight on!)
