Must say Giggy, before the first leg I fancied Barrow to win the play-off games and gain promotion 'cos they're the form side and have finished like a train. Before the playoffs started Barrow were down as most bookie's favourites to win them on recent form and it will take some performance to beat them (though they don't look invincible). If they get to the final I reckon they'll win it. We played well for much of the game Wednesday but let ourselves down at the end. Still reckon we are in with a shot of turning it around Sunday, hoping to fill the New Bucks Head and create a good atmosphere for the team. We'll have to wait and see what happens now but if we don't manage it I don't think it will be for lack of trying.

As for the connie north, I want Barrow to succeed in order to do away with an extremely long journey, Telford to remain in connie north cos it's a home payday for us and I'd like to see Buxton promoted, rather than Gateshead for the same reason as wanting Barrow to be promoted. Selfish aren't I? Yes. . Looks like another "long hike" up north, rather than a short one for you next season Ojive my friend.

What was the score my owd? Rumour/speculation has it we may not be as dead and buried as we believed we were. If we happen to stay up so be it, I'll take our good fortune and look forward to our meetings next season. I'm not holding my breath though. You lot have done well this season and have a very good set up off the pitch, and it's only a matter of time before you get back to the unofficial div five.

Finished 2-0 today, 4-0 on aggregate.
Would like to see Barrow go up now, after the comeback they made this season they probably deserve it, also a very good side and can see them beating Stalybridge in the final. Stalybridge are strong going forward but against a Barrow back 4 which are difficult to break down I could see them leaving gaps at the back which Barrow would exploit.
Another way of looking at it for us is that we played Barrow 4 times, scored 0 and conceeded 10 in total (effectively they did the quadruple over us this season) whereas we did the double over Stalybridge.
On another note both sets of fans have come under bad press over the season but today both were brilliant, friendly banter in the local pubs around the stadium supposedly and also during the game. After the game some Telford fans went on the pitch but only to shake hands with both sets of players, congratulate the Barrow fans and wish them well on Friday. Then both sets of fans stayed behind at the end to applaud both their team and the other team. All round good atmosphere despite a disappointing result.

I caught the last 10 minutes or so of commentary on Radio Shropshire (see heroes and villains section) and so much for the Sultan forecast that you would go up.
It's the flipside of our playoff system that the highest placed team to miss out on an automatic slot often fails to claim their deserved place in the higher league.
One extremely encouraging thing for you must be the crowd figure - reported as 4000 on the radio- and this with the Wolves being at home for their last game with a play-off place a realistic possibility for them.

With Barrow and Eastbourne joining Blue Square Premier via the play-offs, there are going to be some long trips for the fans next season.

Sorry as I am for Halifax supporters for the demise of their club, I reckon I can live with a trip to Gateshead, should that be the case. All they've done is replace Barra in the travellin' stakes.

Yep, well it's that time of the year when connoisseurs of the non-league game in general and conference football in particular begin to ask when is a final table really a final table? So Halifax are put down 2 divisions thus saving Alty for the 3rd year running (they really are the new Tamworth). Now speculation is on that Rotherham could do a Boston United. As the conference would exclude (allegedly) Farsley Celtic on ground issues, this would leave a revitalised STAFFORD RANGERS to retain their place in the BSP, where Bully's new team will ram the doubter's wicked words right back down their throats and we'll be heading to Wembley for the play-off final at the very least! ;D
Excuse me, i have to go. There's a sodding flying pig buzzing around my garden and i need to go and "shoo" it before it even THINKS about crapping on my conservatory!

Halifax have not been placed in ANY of the divisions in steps 1-4, I assume this means that they have gone and won't be back any higher than the NECL. This reprieves Mick Hucknall and Alteringham.
