I can't go out in the next round ;D I'm still the lovely Sutton United, who've drawn Notts County at home. Nice draw for Havant & Waterlooville too- Brentford at home! But it's surely our turn again...

Dave, although Team Bath are now my team, I shall be cheering for Salisbury. One of only a handful of teams I really wouldn't want as my team for this. Why are you so expectant of defeat? They're top of the Conference South with one defeat all season (and a 100% home record) and we're bottom of the Conference form table and officially rubbish right now! I would say it's an upset waiting to happen but the upset will be us not losing! What did I say?! Flippin appalling, not one shot on target from us. And Team Bath were nothing special either. About 500 Salisbury fans (at least) in a crowd of 649!

My team is now Barrow, who meet Coops' Eastborne Borough in the next round. You should be quietly confident, Barrow looked a decent team, well they dicked us 4-0 anyway!

Sorry Dave, I was rooting for your lot but possibly as I was at Crawley watching the Hawks turn in a very impressive performance I used up my quota of Karma for this round.

There are three all Tinpotter ties in the 1st Round Proper:
ISIHAC (Alfreton) v Loudefc (Bury Town) votp (Leiston/Lewes) v Leedswcfc (Fleetwood) Coops (Eastbourne) v Meadow (Barrow)
Incidentally, only five out of the fifteen remaining Tinpotters are drawn against League teams.

Since I last posted I've had a couple of changes of teams. Crook Town went out to Wakefield who then lost to Fleetwood Town. Fleetwood have since overcome Frickley Athletic and Nantwich Town, and will be playing Leiston in just under an hour. With there being a gap of three divisions between the two sides I should be confident of progressing to the next round but having looked at Leiston's impressive record this season I fear that my interest in this season's F.A. Cup game thingy could well end this afternoon.

We are both still in there. In a curious quirk of fate Carshalton were actually knocked out by Leiston who I am now following. Apart from Dover and Staines, they are the best footballing sde we have played this year and deserve a good run. Mind you, geographicaly they are stuck in the Ridgeons (or whatever it is now) forever no matter how good they are.
Sitting here wearing black and white in honour of the Magpies for not letting me down. ;D

Lost touch with the Tinpot world bigtime, lately, didn't realise how much so! I changed horses thrice more, with Rugby going out to Bishops Stortford, who were vanquished by Dorchester Town, first round losers to Oxford United. My current team's old Manor Ground held some happy memories for me. Back in 1972, Stafford Rangers 8-)took on Yeovil Town in the FA Trophy semi there and thrashed them 4-0 on the way to our first Wembley Trophy Final. ;D The only imperfect thing was that it was Barnet we crushed 3-0 in that Final, and not Telford , who had fallen to Barnet in the semi's. Another nice memory was being in attendance there with a Man Utd supporting workmate, when the then League Cup holders Oxford United defeated the rags 2-0 in Ferguscum's first ever match as evil ragmeister.. ;D After reaching the semi last year it looks like i won't reach round 3 this time with ewildon's Torquay waiting in ambush at Plainmoor in round 2. This place does NOT hold good memories for me. Back in 1986, when i was still single and trying to do the 92 League grounds i travelled down there on a Bank Holiday weekend to see the relegation battle between Torquay and Rochdale. I'd bought a ticket for the away end at a midweek Rochdale game and was in the end with the Dale lads, many of whom had taken their WAGS down for the weekend Finally finding my way from the station (after some sh1tty yokel had directed me in the opposite direction and i just happened to spot the floodlight pylons on the horizon as i walked towards Plymouth) we were really pushed in and treated like cattle by the local constabulary. I felt sorry for the girls who'd gone in with their husbands / boyfriends only to be treated in such a shabby way. Nice way to get them interested in fotball.. Dale lost 2-1 and we were only allowed out of the ground in small groups. On finally being allowed out, i made the mistake of asking a copper for directions back to the town centre, only to receive a cuff around the back of the head amid cheers from the local supporters Turns out that early in the season the Wolves (then a division 4 outfit) had been to Plainmoor and (probably riled by the "welcome" from the locals), trashed the away end and the local rag was running a scare story that a load of Dogheads were coming down to do it again on the Bank Holiday. This was, of course, a complete fabrication as Wolves were chasing promotion and playing at home that day. Local police were, however, pulling over cars with Wolverhampton area numberplates on the motorway outside Exeter looking for marauding dogheads amongst the holidaymakers. Seems my Black Country accent had landed me right in it. I changed my plan to find a B&B and headed straight back to the station without spending another cent in their two-bit town. No offence, ewildon, but i'm up for this and your Gulls are going DOWN.
