Are we doing the FA Cup thing again? Preliminary round draw is here.As I'll be in Devon for this round my pick is Dawlish Town as I will probably go and watch their game against Wimborne Town

Ooh, I went through Dawlish on the way to/from my holiday last week. It looked very pretty.
If we do the game again, I think I shall go for Chichester City United because 1) I have always thought they have a stupidly tinpot name; 2) Chichester is nice and is in the same county as my beloved, and 3) it means I might eventually end up supporting Sutton ;D

This season I will go with [glow=green,5,300] Runcorn Linnets[/glow] Runcorn Linnets were formed in 2006 following the folding of previous club Runcorn FC Halton. The former club suffered heavy financial problems and most of the squad walked out after their paychecks bounced. Runcorn assembled a squad to finish the season but had to endure heavy defeats including 8-0 away at Bradford Park Avenue, 8-1 away at Radcliffe Borough, 7-0 at home to AFC Telford United and 7-0 at home to Farsley Celtic. The new club started brightly in it's first season in North West Counties Division 2 with a 4-0 away win against Ashton Town and then a 5-0 home win to Castleton Gabriels. Runcorn finished runners up that season (losing out to Winsford United on goal difference) to gain promotion to North West Counties Division 1. I ntheir first season at that level they achieved a midtable position of 12th. This season following a renaming of the league they will be playing in the North West Counties Premier Division. Runcorn play their home games at Wincham Park; ground sharing with Witton Albion untill a suitable location in Runcorn can be found. They play in a home strip of yellow shirts, green shorts and yellow socks. Their away kit is white and blue shirts, blue shorts and blue socks.

I'll have Pilkington XXX because it sounds like it could be a beer. Away to AFC Wilfrunians.

I was considering Pilkington XXX as they are local and share their ground with my last year's Extra Preliminary pick of Cadbury Athletic, however, I have decided to go with Brodsworth Miners Welfare as I'll be away on holiday and wouldn't be able to get to a local game that day anyway with Solihull Moors at home to Gainsborough Trinity.

Shirebrook Town for me but only because I read it as Shitebook which sounds like a great website for the manically depressed and a great way to promote National Shite Day.
