f**k animal rights, pigeons are vermin, vermin with wings. if it was rats, no one would bat an eyelid, but because it's birds it's the end of the world. Staines should put pigeon pie on the menu

I agree with you in that nobody would care if it were rats, but personally I still don't like it. I wouldn't like it if they were shooting rats, either, but that's just me. The reason I don't like it is that the only problem Staines are experiencing with the pigeons is that they sit in the top of the stands and poo on the seats. They could solve that problem simply by putting netting up. Shooting pigeons will not deter more from coming, and I'd rather have pigeon poo than pigeon guts on my seat. Yes, they needed to get rid of the pigeons, but it wasn't necessary to kill them. I wouldn't write one of those weird emails, though

the only problem Staines are experiencing with the pigeons is that they sit in the top of the stands and poo on the seats. Do you kill cockroaches if you find one? Do you kill flies if you see one? If you had rats in your garden or house would you ring the rat catcher? I believe cockroaches are almost the perfect creature on this planet and will be around a lot longer than mammals. they merely reflect the environment they live in. the same with rats and flies, they have all developed a unique way of surviving on the shi te that the rest of the animal kingdom (including us) leaves behind. I begrudge having to kill flies, rats or cockraoches - and I have done all 3 at some point in my life. However it is a necessary evil, as those species and our species cannot live together in a close environment. the yhave a survival technique meaning that there are enough of their number to survive when we cull for safety's sake. however, in general, these people that are complaining, would not think twice about killing rats, cockroaches or flies. pigeons are something different. pigeons do not reflect the environment. where ever they live, they still carry the disease and shi te around with them. they are vermin. i have no respect for pigeons. they are thick, ugly, disease ridden vermin and would happily see the last of their species in a big fat pie, that I would feed to the rats, cockroaches and flies of this world. if it meant shooting every single last one of them, it would still not be a problem.

No, I don't kill anything. If I find something in my flat that shouldn't be there, I put it outside. I've never had to deal with a proper infestation.

Back in the early 80's we had an American Football boom in this country, and many short-lived gridiron teams sprung up around the country.
Following the American tradition for silly names, we had the likes of London Ravens, Birmingham Bulls, Cannock Stampeders, et al.
Some, such as the "Wight Rhinos" went for the humorous angle but my personal favourite were the Staines Removers. Alas they didn't make it to the big time.
Could it be there are some ex-Removers dealing with the pigeons?
