To avoid confusion on your board, I was wondering if any of you are likely to be making use of the bar at our place for the Christmas game? If you might be partaking, I shall try and arrange a larger supply of ale (and a few bottles of something different) for the day.
Currently we've only got Courage Best (surprisingly better than I expected it to be) until the New Year but I'm hoping to be able to start a rotating selection (or stuff I want to try as I call it) as soon as possible.

Hi Vicar,
Is the Best on hand pump?? If not a couple of decent bottles won't go amiss.
I hate to say it but Hornchurch did rather well on that front with some CAMRA recommended proper beers, the names of which escape me.
Quite looking forward to the game, which I think U's are actually the underdogs with the way your lads are playing.
If Lewis Gonsalves is playing Saturday tell him to give that Hornchurch thug who belted our 'keeper a kick from me!!

Unlikely to be around pre game and since i won't be doing that i can't imagine my presence after a U's win would be particularly welcome as it would look very much like gloating and we all know what happened last time and indeed, if we lose, i will be straight down to The Hope to cry.

Thanks guys, the Best is on hand pump in the portacabin (nothing doing in the top bar). Will try and sort out the bottles as well but its proving to be an 'interesting' problem getting the club to use a proper wholesaler instead of the brewery. Old Speckled Hen is not a good option...
I keep hearing good things about the Hope, haven't been in for years though (and it was a bit rubbish then) has it improved recently?

New landlord/landlady whatever you call a lady of the ale establishment owning persuasion apparently.
Either way, never had a bad pint. Usually two or three ales on. Been three or four times since i heard it was worth a visit.
