OK, most of us know the drill.
The 2009 Riverside Festival will take place on The Town Meadows, Stamford, Lincs, on Saturday 4 July from 1pm-11pm. Entry is allegedly "free," but they will be asking for donations towards the upkeep of the festivals, which is only fair really. I think the suggested donation was a couple of quid last year.
It's fun.
Attractions include:
1) Tinpot Weekend away from things that annoy you, and you get to meet Tinpot people like me.
2) Nice reasonably priced B&Bs in the area to facilitate a boozy night out beforehand for those who want one.
3) Room for a kickabout as the festival meadows are nice and open.
4) Very lovely, friendly, picturesque town with amazing public houses ;D
5) Good food- choice of lots (last year I had Indian food cooked on site)
6) Open air stage hosting a "wide variety" of live music. This varies hugely from year to year but usually has some pretty good stuff.
7) Metal, heavy rock and punk marquee.
8) Acoustic folk & blues tent.
9) Potentially amusing buskers' stage.
10) 40 real ales in a nice big tent; other beers;soft drinks; Pimms bar.
11) Kiddies' entertainment.
12) Interesting stalls selling interesting things all day (handmade clothes, musical instruments, art, weird trinkets, hippie things etc).
13) Fireworks display - usually very good.
14) Medibot (hopefully).

If you want to come, and you would like to be part of the Tinpot Bandwagon, please make yourself known on this thread by the 9th of May, as it can be hard to arrange accommodation nearer the time.
Thanking you kindly.
