Heck dudes; the totally beautiful town of Stamford is almost within stumbling distance of Burton Latimer you know!
A day trip at the very least.
It's a splendid festival too. Daza; make the effort dear.

I'll be coming but I shan't be needing accomodation. Unfortunately I'll just be there for the festival itself and no more, but you're all welcome to say hello if you like

That isn't unfortunate - it will be lovely to see you! Does anyone remember the name of the place we stayed in last year?

Saturday 4 July from 1pm-11pm. That's this weekend then. Better get things sorted. Apparently this 'heat wave' will break before the end of the week with torrential rain. Lets hope that happens on Thursday so that we can have normal summer sun and no mud for Saturday.

The forecast for Saturday is occasional showers and a bit cooler. Shouldn't be too bad though.
Anyway, I hope to see a few of you at the weekend.

I'm not worried too much about Saturday itself (if it hammers it down all day, I'll go to the boozers in Peterborough instead), but lots of rain in the area on Thursday/Friday/Saturday could easily result in the site being under water. It is part of the local flood plain and I'd say there's a reasonable risk of flash flooding if the heavens really open up.
Next issue... are the bothering to run any trains on Saturday?!
Note: Stafford/Birmingham or London and stations to Nuneaton is part of London Midland's network. They offer 'super off-peak' returns at very low prices (e.g. Tamworth - London is £10 walk-on) and they also have groupsave for three/four people travelling together. Check ticket prices to Nuneaton, Leicester and Peterborough as well as Stamford - there are usually big savings if you split ticket. Midland folk - consider the West Midlands Day Ranger, which I think will get you to Leicester from Northampton, Derby, Redditch, Worcester, Stafford, etc. and anywhere in between.

If it hammers it down all day, I shall be in the beer tent!

Along with every other person at the festival. It'll be jammed! Peterborough would be a good move - if the rain was to reach biblical proportions, they have a boat with a real ale bar on it. I'm gonna try and drum up the Tamworthian contingent. Hopefully Coops will be there (?) plus maybe Bogbrush, Cockney Mike (we need a translator with all you Londoners about)... the beer might even drag Big Game George out. There's competition this year with Coventry's Godiva festival, featuring Idlewild, The Twang, and other such 'big' names playing for free. Coventry is a hole with no beer though.

Oi, I'll have you know that I speak the Queens English (or at least an estuary version of, as does my OH and if I remember rightly Sal and Medibot as well) It's us Londoners who'll require the translators. Lots of midlanders..... help!!!!! Incidentallly, posting so late because the broadband ha been down most of the day.
