What a bunch of...well, anything but Angels. This all kicked off last season when Paul Doswell, our manager, got into a bit of a scrap on the pitch with one of their lot. I'm not saying Paul was blameless, but the guy did grab him hard enough to put huge bruises all up his arms, and Paul apparently kicked him in the shin to get him off. The Tonbridge fans will not let him forget this. On Saturday, they spent nearly the whole game chanting rather rude things at him When I say rather rude, I mean stuff that made a complete mockery of their large signs around the ground that read "obscene chanting will lead to ejection from the ground." Don't think so. After the game, a couple of them waited for Paul outside the gate and jumped on him as he left. I was there and saw the guy repeatedly attempt to punch them - they ended up on the deck and this Tonbridge fan needed about three guys to pull him off him. They had to hold him back until Paul got into his car, which was spat on. Guys, can't you just forget about it?! This isn't what non-league football is about Our last-minute winner probably didn't help matters ;D

Why can't they be more like Darren Acton and not show up after the game after arranging fights?

We used to give Doswell untold grief when he was at Eastleigh but sounds a bit OTT.

I didn't know about that!! What were those idiots thinking of? It was supposed to be a football match. I hope the incident was reported to both clubs and then the person concern could be barred for life, and or prosecuted for what sounds an unprovoked attack!!
Did anyone else witness the assault?

Tonbridge are a weird bunch. After the play off game there last season, they were really good in their bar - no grumbling and a lot of good luck comments for the final. At the same time, we were told by their bar staff, several of their fans were outside the ground fighting each other for some reason? Very odd, but too many incidents over the last few years to put the blame solely on Doswell's rather silly spat last season.
My daughter is now demanding to go to football as often as possible (I have no idea what a two year old finds fascinating about football but she does) and I'm already avoiding taking her to games which I think could be difficult (Dartford and Tonbridge are two that spring immediately to mind).
No one in authority seems to have noticed or care about the level of violence that would appear to be growing. Certainly if you witnessed the latest round of poor behaviour, it should be reported to the club, league, FA and police.

Dartford were OK this evening - generally they're just a bit loud and silly I didn't know about that!! What were those idiots thinking of? It was supposed to be a football match. I hope the incident was reported to both clubs and then the person concern could be barred for life, and or prosecuted for what sounds an unprovoked attack!! Did anyone else witness the assault? Absolutely agree with you there bh. There were other Tonbridge fans there, and Kelly and Paul were also there with me (Paul kind of jumped in and tried to break it up, without much success but he wasn't hurt at least) and a few of our officials (including Bruce) came out soon afterwards and had a few words with them.

Tonbridge do seem to attract an odd bunch. As the Vicar said, after last season play-off win there, I was waiting for some chips (fair play to the burger van, it was open well after the game) when two or three independent scuffles broke out amongst TA fans which had to be broken up by stewards. It all seemed to be to do with the part of the local estate you lived in. Or, in which you lived, if you prefer.
Most clubs have a few supporters capable of venturing beyond the pale but it makes you wonder when its continued behaviour that is commented on by many others.

They've obviously got a massive inferiority complex from living in the poor man's Tunbridge Wells.
