I'm sure we've done this before, at some point, but I can't find it so I'm starting afresh. This is a silly thread about mistakes one might make when using predictive text on one's mobile and failing to notice that the word used is not exactly the one required. Recently, I tried to send a text about the quality barmaid in the pub I was in, but "barmaid" came out as "carnage." Similarly, careless use of the word "Smirnoff" produces "poisoned."
I was at my brother's last week, and while I was there, his friend James sent him a text that caused a great deal of confusion. Eventually, it came to light that what James had intended to say was, "I'm so bored, really need to do something. Fancy getting food in the Crown?"
What my brother actually received was:
"I'm so bored, really need to do something. Fancy getting done in the brown?" ;D ;D ;D

A mate of mine that I get score updates from when I can't get to games has a phone that doesn't recognise the word "nil" for some reason. As a consequence we're always losing something - zero ;D
Why he doesn't just use numbers is beyond me.

If there's one thing guaranteed to send me into a raging fury it's trying to send a text if this dratted facility has defaulted itself back onto my mobile phone. I don't know who invented predictive texting, but i hope that the fleas from 1000 camels come to infect their pubic hair!

I HATE PREDICTIVE TEXT.
I never use it and I don't understand how it can possibly be easier than normal txtng.

Personally i've always used it and short of once having a phone that refused to accept Sutton as a word i've never had any problems.

I used to accidentally activate it on my previous phone. The first time this happened it took me ages to work out how to disable the bloody thing! I've hated it ever since.

It takes me about ten times more time to write a message without it, so I keep mine on.
