I know the beer isn't entirely a gimme in relation to the location; but google suggest it is indeed Ringwood Town - and a splendid place it is too!
Don't expect too many ponies though - not unless Waitrose sell pony steaks these days! ;D Jimmy; this can't be a league fixture... Whitchurch? You just off on a ramble?? ;D

Never been there, probably the most local ground to me that I haven't. Don't really think of Ringwood as 'in the New Forest' for some reason, probably just me!

Ringwood is home to the New Forest info centre - so it clearly thinks it's a part of it!

Belatedly... It was lovely and despite witnessing a goal-less draw I will definitely be going back. I had a little scan on their website and look how big time this is

the best palce to watch football in the forest has got to be Bashley,
burgers and sausages from the farm shop next door. horse next door the other side if you get the right day in early season you can watch Bashley CC for a bit who have had Aussie internationals Adam Voges and Luke Ronchi turning out for them in the not to distant past.
and best of all the best bunch of curmugeonly old codgers ever.
i'll never forget the first time I went there, they beat Sittingbourne 6 or 7 -1 and they were being attacked by theese old gits for not getting double figures, it made me want more and more of this non league lark.

I'm intrigued as to how the horse was being sold. Was it being served hot with chips or could you get it as a ploughmans or with salad? The people there can probably trace their ancestry back to the Norman invaders and it's interesting to see that some of the old French traditions such as the consumption of hores meat have continued. Old geezers at football matches could probably command a topic to themselves, like the old git from Altrincham who screamed at the ref that one of his strikers could not be offside "because the ball was in the air". At a Crewe v Peterboro game i attended in the old 4th division a crewe player almost ripped an opponent in half with a two-footed waist-high tackle from behind. As the rather lenient ref went for the yellow card and the Peterboro sponge man worked on his striken forward in front of us (no doubt wondering if the guy would ever walk again,) an old geezer yelled "I hate these players who fall over just to get people booked!"
