Thank god, won't be easy against the Germans but hey, just glad to be in the last 16.
3.00 kick off, could be a bad head come Monday either way.

I never doubted England would get through. If England do manage to beat Germany, their other nemesis Argentina await in the quarter-finals. At least we're not now in the same half of the draw as whoever wins Group G (Brazil or Portugal).

FCC kindly cancelled my train home yesterday, I should have been home before the start of the second half. I was forced to watch the first half for the packed doorway of The Hand and Racket in Wimbledon, at least I saw the goal. Caught the next train 15.47 to my local station. As I'm walking to my home I heard a great cheer from one of the houses. Feeling relieved that England had scored a second goal (or so I was mislead) I walked the rest of the home with confidence. Of course when I arrived home I found that it was still only 1-0, and no mention of any second goal. Watched the rest of the half wondering what happened. I don't normally watch the waffle at the end of games, so I didn't find out that we had a goal disallowed unit reading it in the paper this morning. The reason for me writing this is the relief I felt when I heard the cheering, and the shock of finding out we were still struggling was an amazing upper then downer all in a few minutes. Just like watching real football. Roll on the new season!! ;D
