To follow on from my previous thread, this season I am cycling to all of Sutton's away league matches to help raise money for our Football Development Plan. This is Sutton United's plan to build community football facilities not just for our own use but for all the good burghers of Sutton and including facilities for disabled footballers and for the development of women's and girls' football. It's a very ambitious project, but with a lot of fundraising and goodwill, there's no reason why it shouldn't come to fruition! (To see more on the FDP, please visit www.suttonunited.net/community_fdp_menu.html). In addition to this, I now have a page of my own: www.suttonunited.net/community_cyclepledge.html, where you can see how many miles I've done so far and how much money has been raised, as well as a blog detailing my adventures to date (if you can describe a journey to Tooting and Mitcham's ground as an adventure). If any of you lovely people would like to sponsor me, I would be eternally grateful You can make a pledge as a lump sum or, if you prefer, you can sponsor me a certain amount per mile, per game, amount of time I remain alive, whatever you like. The total distance to all the league grounds is 812 miles, but be warned, the total mileage may be a bit more than that as this is the total of all the trips if made in one direction only, and some will be return trips. So far I've visited 2 grounds, with the third being tomorrow night at Hastings...in the rain, no doubt

Good luck you. Can I make a one-off payment by paypal or something similarly simple?

No paypal set up (yet) but if you email, you have the rest of the season to pay! You can also send a cheque if you like (details on website). Thanks!

This is proper non-league stuff: I've had a £50 pledge from someone at Hendon FC...and we haven't even played them yet Hastings were absolutely lovely on Tuesday and wouldn't let me pay to get in so I'm putting in a tenner on their behalf. This is what tinpot is all about!

Excellent, I will try to do the Bury Town one, but I'm not sure about that yet, 5th of March looks the best bet though for me

Well, Lowestoft have gone and got themselves knocked out of the FA Cup. So Lowestoft it is, Saturday week. Really looking forward to that!

I'll be throwing my tenner into the hat one way or another before the closing date. As for the Lowestoft trip, could you not take the bike onto the train and then sit on the bike during the journey? That way, you have technically travelled to Lowestoft on your bike, innit?
