I am in some ways very proud of it but, in another way a bit embarassed by. I nominate myself for the worlds most untravelled man.
I have lived, been educated and worked all my life within a one mile radius of my birthplace.

If you really want to know, I was born in my parents house and all the local schools were within a mile of home, used to walk to school everyday (no busy roads or peado's in them days ;D ). When I left I started work at Rolls Royce (Hucknall) which again was less than a mile from my parents home. The only deviation came when I had to go to west Notts tech (Mansfield) for my city an guilds. I've been employed there (R-R) all my working life 33+ years so far. The two homes I've owned with Mrs GTH have also been well within a mile (the way the crow flies) to my birthpalce. So now Amber, mi duck you now know. BTW it's a fact that makes my lad laugh.

(no busy roads or peado's in them days ;D ). When I was younger I always wanted to be a Manchester City fan, but I wasn't allowed because my mum always told me to stay away from the Maine Road.

My Dad spent most of his life untill September 2009 (he was born in January 1953) in the same house. He was born in the house, and he worked from that house. He moved out when he was 30 when he got married to my Mother, and moved back with my Mum, and his kids 12 years later after the death of my Nan died and my Grandad had a stroke. But then he spoilt it all by moving to Wales.

My dad considers himself poorly-travelled, but the facts do nothing to back up this assertion. He was born in Bristol, moving to Gloucestershire a couple of years later; he mostly grew up in Carsh*ton Beeches, before marrying my mum and moving to Gateshead where he studied for a few years. They then returned to Sutton where they remained from mid 1970s-present, but they too are moving to Wales later this month (it is clearly fashionable) so I refute his claim entirely.
