I was in Malaysia for a couple of weeks recently and was there when the Christchurch Earthquake happened. The main coverage of the quake in my copy of The New Straits Times concerned the lucky escape of 2 Malaysian nationals who happened to be working in that city. They really surpassed themselves this morning. I was listening to BFM 98.9 on the internet as the Japanese earthquake story began to emerge. The opening line to the news bulletins was " No Malaysians were killed as a large earthquake struck northern Japan this morning..." Now these are people who have really got their priorities right.

It always annoys me when the UK papers publish stories like that where some disaster or unfortunate accident has occurred, and always insist on saying things like "Two Britons are feared dead..." when hundreds of people have actually bought it. Obviously, British people would be more concerned about people they know, i.e. mostly British people, but come on, all lives are equally important no matter where they originate...
Meh.
