A fresh proposal of payment (for all the debt) is being made to HMRC supported by our local MP. It is hoped (obviously) that they will look favourably on this. However, Part of the way of funding this as things stand, is for the football club to become run on the basis of total amateur status, i.e. manager and players not being paid at all. Tommy Brookbanks (manager) is in the 2nd year of a three year contract so that is going to be an issue.
Having said this if HMRC don't accept this proposal then it's a case of Romulus won't be playing Hucknall town in their opening fixture.

Hope you manage to sort things out Frankie.
I think your second game is against us and we could potentially meet in the FA Trophy this year as well.

Did I see somewhere that you've been drawn against Newcastle Town in the Trophy Sultan?
Quick return for your manager.

FA Trophy - 1st qualifying round, we are away to either Newcatle Town or Woodford, so it may not happen. It more than likely will, though and they're bound to stuff us!
F A Cup 1st Qual -away to Castle Vale or Heath Hayes or Bloxwich Utd or Old Wulfrunians. Mega embarrasment on the way there.
Who did you get?

FA Cup preliminary round- Away at Malvern Town or Causeway United
FA Trophy first round qualifying - At home to Rainworth Miners Welfare or Hucknall Town
Don't know anything about our FA Cup opponents but the Trophy match will be against a team from our own division. Rainworth did the double over us last season.

It's old news now, but, We have turned amateur with no-one getting paid including the manager. We are still waiting to hear from HMRC and everything is still teatering on the edge. If HMRC accept our plan I think we'll do well to avoid the drop next season , only time will tell.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT 04/08/2011 - HMRC We are delighted to announce that HMRC have accepted an offer from the club to settle its tax debts. The agreement comes with several conditions some of which require some further clarification, these discussions will be completed over the next couple of days.
