From The Beeb:
Whole Crawley squad up for sale Conference club Crawley Town have put their entire playing staff on the transfer list, reports BBC Southern Counties Radio. The decision was made by chairman Chas Majeed in an attempt to restructure the club and reduce staff wages.
The players have been advised to contact the PFA as the club are now in breach of individual contracts.
It is not clear how many players will turn up for training on Friday ahead of Saturday's match with Accrington. __________________________________________
The perils of turning professional before they were ready I reckon, they won't be the last, how can clubs like Chavney Island and Forest Gump turn professional on gates well below 1000?

Delusions of grandeur, it always surprised me at Forest Green but Canvey (i didn't know they were full-time) were always under the impression they were brilliant when Sutton played them, particularly their fatboy owner/manager Jeff King. Mind you, seeing as his business is ripping off old people and flogging them skanky little wheel-less caravans he could probably afford to be full time...

Blimey.
I predicted at the beginning of the season that something like this would happen.
Poor old Creepy Crawley!

I've said for years that i don't think full-time proffesionalism is viable at non-league level. To me the de-regionlaisation of the 3rd division 40 years ago was suicidal and going to a national 5th tier (conference) and a semi-national sixth tier just adds to the error.
The german system is better. There are only two full-time pro-divisions, (the 1. and 2. Bundesliga), a semi-national semi-pro 3rd division and a network of regional leagues feeding into that.
Implementing that sort of system would have cost saving benefits and give more local derbies.
Can't see it happening, though. Too many vested interests here......

No way should a non-league level be national.
