Blyth Spartans vs. AFC Telford United
Erm, think they're unbeaten and they've probably set off now to get to Blyth in time for kick off.
We've not won since the opening day but we're unbeaten in two.
Oh and quite possibly the Gildea brothers (sometimes known as the Gilder brothers by short sighted announcers) will be back playing for us.
From varying sources the Telford away support is going to be somewhere between 50-500.
Add that to about 550 and that's this Saturdays attendance.

I think our international fixture at Newport County is also important. Newport sit 11th, and in theroy it's a good chance for us to collect more away points and pull away from the relegation zone (although the table doesn't matter to much at the stage of the season).
A combination of about 50 hardy travellers from North Surrey/South London and Newport's average attendance thus far of 1056, should see a gate of 1100

...most of whom aren't allowed in the members only bar any more. Er, Jared... 1100? You've added our estimated travelling support onto their combined home/away support average. Which team is providing the other away supporters?

According to www.confsouth.co.uk 1056 is Newport's average home attendance with the highest being 1159 for Maidenhead.

Yeah, but the average includes the away fans and you're adding ours on top of that.

The team left this afternoon, think they're stopping the for night in Leeds so that it's only a 2 hour drive on the day as opposed to 5 or 6. Exception being new signing Simon Forsdick (from Hednesford) who couldn't travel up tonight and so will travel up tommorrow. As for the away support, can't see 500 going that far, I'll be going (and probably be wearing my red away shirt from last season, notable for being the one with GIGGY and the number 3 on it) but I know a lot of people can't make it, my guess is between 200 & 300 Telford fans but I never get these things right. As the longest journey we make all season the coach is normally £15.50, I won the raffle on at another match recently though so I got a free ticket to Blyth.

Blyth Spartans 1-2 AFC Telford United
I feel robbed, not robbed as in somebody comes and robs you robbed. But more like somebody asks you for money and you just hand it to them.
Didn't take our chances in the first half and Telford sneaked one before half time. Scotty Bell missed another one on one just after the restart but we equalised soon after. And just as we had settled down a defensive lapse allows Telford to go back infront.
Not much really happened after that, seemed to be more action in midfield then any other part of the pitch. Had a sniff of goal late on but nothing came of it.
You know what they say, take your chances or the opposition will take theirs.

SOUTHPORT 3 SOLIHULL MOORS 2
Gifted a goal to their unmarked centre half from a corner after four and a half minutes. Fairly even thereafter until the thirty-fourth minute when Southport were awarded a dubious free kick outside the area which resulted in their no. 10 doubling their score.
We must learn to defend set pieces We must learn to defend set pieces We must learn to defend set pieces
Pulled one back a minute before the break. Just after the hour mark their unmarked centre half doubled his personal tally, again from a set piece and restored Southport's two goal margin.
We must learn to defend set pieces We must learn to defend set pieces We must learn to defend set pieces
We continued to press and pulled one back a minute from time with a 20 yard daisy cutter through a crowd - keeper rooted to the spot.
Considering Southport are full time I think we gave them a good run for their money and should really have come away with a point, but for our part time defending at set pieces.
