Can start to see a little of the attraction for Ebbsefleet in going for the cyber-crowd as the chill wind blows through Marston Road. At least if the myfootballclub pull out, whoever gets Ebbsfleet will take over a debt-free club. Up here, things seem to be going from bad to worse. Thanks to the leagues patented fixture arranging, we've had only ONE home game scheduled in the SEVEN weeks up 'til Boxing Day (barring theF ACT game against Rushall or Osset, where the gate money will have to be split) and saturday against Northwich is IT. The rumour last Sunday was that we were going to get another round of cost-cutting measures including the release of our player-coach, David Oldfield. By Friday, there was a rare statement from the club and it had become a reality as the assistant was "a luxury we cannot afford." This week's rumour is that we shall be going into administration, possibly as early as Friday. If we lose at home to Northwich on Saturday we will go bottom and going into admin would give us a grand total of -1 points for the season. There was a saying in greco-roman times that "those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad." From some of the comments flying about on the SRFC message board, they have already achieved the first objective and are probably sharpening their thunderbolts even as we speak.... Given the hated Vic's plight, a good theme for this game on a roman theme could be "we who are about to die salute you!"

Oh Sultan... I wish you the very best of luck. I would hate to see things get so bad at a club like Stafford.

So it's THAT bad? I'd heard some rumours that things weren't going so well for you but administration this early in the season, gulp!
Good luck and don't blame my socks, we don't wish this on any club.

we who are about to die salute you! Sorry, Dude, had no idea. It does happen to us all, so feel no shame at least. Hope you get your money problems sorted. I assume it's a non-payment of tax, ultimately? Don't despair though - this is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party. And they frequently do, in their various forms. Sometimes there are quiet, wealthy people in the wings who don't wish to get involved with the Club in its current form, but who are happy to step in when the temporarily incumbent administration moves on. Hope that's the case for you. Talk nicely to ALL strangers in Pubs for the next week or two!

Didn't know any of this was going on and it really saddens me to hear that it is. All the best Stafford.

I always enjoyed supporting one of your bogey teams but I wouldn't wish your plight on anyone - except Droylsden.
