I greeted this result with a knowing nod of the head Fantastic result, and well done to the Hawks! ;D Of course, this was achieved entirely on the efforts of the team and had absolutely nothing to do with my visits to Meadow Lane the day before. I would not be so churlish as to try to claim credit in any way However, if you feel the need to make any kind of contribution feel free to ask for bank details / address to send cheque to... ;D

I do believe that you will accept my gratitude in lieu of any pecuniary recompense! Failing that; I have bottled the tears of joy shed at the final whistle - these may have some iconic value in years to come. You are welcome to them. It goes without saying that yesterday counts as the finest day to date in Hawks history - a truly remarkable day capped with that goal just as we were believing we had achieved a draw and replay. Days like this happen so, so rarely - but when they do - boy; just live the dream. To those who have dreamed - I know how it feels. To everyone else; may you too experience a day like this with your team.

As another man of honour, integrity and faith i trust that you would be able to look me straight in the eye and tell me truthfully that had County managed the expected "duck hunt" you would not have cast eyes to the heavens as the goals zapped in wailing; "That Bloody Sultan, why couldn't he have kept away!" Saw a pic of your goal being scored in the paper today, plus one of Hawks players in various states of deshabaille I hope you were able to cover Mrs ISIHAC's eyes in time! Yes, i have lived the dream all too briefly and all too long ago. These are memories that stay with you forever. In a roundabout way you will probably experience "European" football too!

It has been noted that certain players have decided to become models; at York it was Tony Taggart, who was pictured after the game in a nice white fluffy bathrobe he allegedly acquired from the team hotel - this time, the lad pictured in naught but he Calvins is Jamie Collins...
The Taggart stunt resulted in us regulars donning bathrobes on the terraces at Meadow Lane in a sort of tribute to his cheek!
Collins can go jump! ;D

Next fixture is the first proper full-on "Soccer-Saturday" of 2008. A good omen, surely? You'd beat Horsham, but I doubt any Non-League team would beat Swansea City on their own patch, to be honest. I've always tipped you guys to do well in the League this year, so hopefully after the New Year you'll really do the job. New Year Resolution: Hope the cheapy Eastleigh don't nick all your guys, and that your new Manager stabilises things, uses those good signings you've made, and gets you to the Play-Offs again like last year.
