I'm sure all Tinpotters will be pulling for Havant on Saturday. I may be able to do something practical to help the cause! ;D Last week, i had to take a company vehicle to Notts in order to bring my group leader to work for an appointment with the Occupational Health guys. The route took me right past Meadow Lane and i saw the Havant game advertsed. The point is, this Friday, the day before the game i may be passing that way again and will be able to impart one of my dreaded Sultan's Curses (such as the one that took Hednescum down from the Conference) as i drive past!!! If all goes according to plan, i will be able to wish the lice of 1000 camels to attack the pubic hairs of their players, thus easing the Hawk's chances! However, i may need the help of other tinpotters. My powers are fading with age, witness how my 1000 year curse on Inverness C**T only worked for a few weeks until they found a new manager plus Stafford's predicament. If i am able to consult the entrails of a freshly-slaughtered Hednesford Town fan i might just.. j...u...s....t be able to pull this one off. I'm showing MY full commitment by breaking my 5th Buddhist precept to exercise this curse and would like other tinpotters to show similar commitment. As Dickens said "No greater love has a man than he lays his life down for his friends." "ifrigginrule", over to you mate ;D

Just checked my freezer, Sultan, and I can't promise you any HTFC entrails, sadly. Will talk to the local Butcher on Saturday, though I guess it'll be too late by then. All the best to H&W and Hawky especially. Hope he's going to make the game. Cracking old Club, Notts County, whose Figurine Pannini stickers I inevitably ended up with as a nipper, so I guess they used to be "big" 'in the old days'?

Howard Wilkinson, the last English manager to win a top division title ( Leeds 1992) rated taking Notts County up to the old first division and keeping them there in the early 80's as a bigger achievement than winning the title!

Amazing: my version of the curse, "May the fleas of 1000 camels invade your pubic hair" appears on here just days after I used it to someone that had parked on the disabled bay outside my house for several hours. Good luck to 'Haven't a clueville'.

Why, thank you folks. I shall be there - with Mrs Hawky and one of her Nephews for company... Wellingborough based, he's been in the habit of watching Klattering here and there, bless 'im and has asked whether he can join us on the day. Thinking that it would be good for him to watch someone else before his interest stagnated, I said yes! We have a rather special welcome arranged for one of our players; Mr Tony Taggart - it will be an entirely visual offering and something that should become a talking point; if not indeed a Question of Sport question in years to come!! My faith in the powers of the Hawks defensive resilience; as displayed against York City does not have the strength to lead me to believe that we can withstand a higher force for the full duration without some third party, or even divine intervention. I do, therefore, welcome and indeed encourage any and all variations upon a curse, infestation, short-term and thoroughly discomfiting ailment, but unless absolutely necessary, would not feel comfortable with this being achieved as the result of human sacrifice - unless the entrails of either a Muff fan, or Beastleigh fan are involved. All other teams have reason and purpose.

[DavidCameronism] May I join the Tinpot Terrace sending our best wishes to Havant & Waterlooville, and in particualr our very own Hawkie, in Nottingham on Saturday - I, and I'm sure everyone on my side of the Terrace will be looking out for the score on Saturday. [/Cameron] Enjoy the day Hawks, I've never seen City away at a League Club in the Cup

Good luck Havantville, hope you enjoy your meeting with County as much as we did with Forest exactly a year ago.

Sultan's curses on Notts were dutifully applied today, 2 silent ones with Group Leader in car, 2 out loud when alone. Due to their close proximity to Meadow Lane, Notts County Cricket Club and Forest also got cursed full-on while the Rugby Club may have got some "back radiation". So enthusiastically did i apply the last series, when i actually drove slowly past the main office of NCFC that the powertool warehouse in Meadow Lane also took a blast. No Hednesford Town supporters were harmed in the making of these curses so there's no guarantees but i've done my best. Over to you, Hawks. Good Luck!!!
