Following tonights results as it stands we now have Barrow in the semi-finals of the playoffs. As we are the team in second and they are the team 5th we would be going there midweek. I blame Tamworth as i needed them to lose to Harrogate today. C. Kettering ------------------ Pl. AFC Telford 3. Stalybridge 4. Southport 5. Barrow ----------------- 6. Harrogate We are garunteed a playoff place and even if we lose to Burscough on the last day the lowest we can finish is 4th. Other 4 teams are fighting for 3 places but it would take some ridiculous goal differences on Saturday for Stalybridge to not make it now. Southport and Stalybridge would both be easy to get to, Harrogate would be doable on a Wednesday after college at a push. Barrow however is 4 and a half hours so i would have to choose between a physics lesson I really should go to with exams not far away now or the playoff match. Would be much appreciated if Worcester did us a favour and beat Barrow, knock them out of the playoffs as it is the hardest place to get to and on their recent form a scary prospect in the playoffs. That said when we played Southport at home recently they stuffed us. We just beat Stalybridge and Harrogate and the latter seemed very ordinary on the day (barring their 13th second goal). Would expect a much tougher game with the playoffs at stake however.

We couldn't win a toss with a double headed coin at the moment Gigs. You'd better just lose and hope for the best.

Barrow are gash. A team of incompetent, blind, unfit Muppets should be able to stuff them any time on any day of the week.
Hopefully Stalybridge will win the play-offs - been there far too many times and in comparison with the other contenders (except Telford) they're the worst choice for beer. Telford need to stay down and server their time - tinpot teams that rise too quickly will go bust.
If you were rating the top 6 in Conference North on beer drinking prospects alone, this would be the table:
1. Southport - Beers in the clubhouse, town and surrounding areas, a town brewery with others close by and excellent options for an extended visit. 2. Barrow - Loads of hard to sample Cumbrian breweries near by, a better than expected put situation in the town and great options for an extended visit. 3. Harrogate - A distant third, but the near by drinking prospects are pretty good. 4. Stalybridge - The Buffet Bar is legendary, but too obvious (and too frequently visited in my case). Manchester has lots of potential, but it always seems so inconvenient to get to the best places. 5. Telford - Limited options close to the ground, but it improves with distance. You need to hit Shrewsbury or Wolves to really get a good session, but it is local to Tamworth (the centre of the Universe). 6. Kettering - Not much going for the place really and not much of interest on the way there. The local breweries save it from being a disaster zone, but they are commonly available.

You really should censor that word on a public form which young children could be reading.
The above doesn't really affect me as I don't drink.....which isn't as impressive as some people think it sounds, I just don't like the taste of most alcoholic drinks I've tried.
If we get Barrow then I will make a decision as to whether I go then. So far this season we have an aggregate score of 0-6 against Barrow, losing 4-0 at their place (that was a long day....) and 2-0 at the Bucks Head. On recent form they would be favourites to go up IMO, their recent run of form has been brilliant and it would take some team to stop them. That said the form book tends to go out the window when it comes to playoffs.
On another note I wonder if anyone actually asks the formbook what it thinks about being thrown out a window, if they set it up right with crash mats and everything it could be fun but otherwise it could bloody hurt!

It's the Unibond First Division South for us. I saw that and it did make me sad, I like Leek and i was sure you were gonig to pull off a 3rd successie great escape.
Barrow it is for us, currently working out the logistics for it. How late i can get away with leaving and getting there on time but maximise the time I'm in college for. I will be gonig though.
