Im a real admirer of Alan Smith as a footballer especially of late playing in a midfield role, its a real shame to see such a bad injury on any player. Just hope he recovers and fulfills his potential.

For some reason that link isn't working (I did try to edit your post to make it work, but it wasn't happening!)
You can cut and paste the URL though.
Not a very nice article.

I'm not a fan of Smith, I feel a few times in his career he has made some disgusting challenges but I wouldn't wish his injury on him.
What the so called Liverpool fans did was awful and I hope they punish them.

Anyone else feel that having T-shirts with the words " For you smudge" were in slightly poor taste given Paul Scholes vision problems. Hey, it's OK. He's only going blind!

I think United are trying to make a habit of those shirt messages. Remember when they won the FA Cup in 2004, they went up to collect the Cup all wearing 'Davis 26' shirts in memory of reserve team player Jimmy Davis who had died in a car crash at the start of the season (although disgracfully IMO United still played in the Community Shield the day after Davis had died).
What about Gabriel Henize? No shirt for him!
