Bloody city dweller! There are roads in darkest Sussex that make that one look like a motorway!

Funnily enough I've been on that road, travelling from La Paz to Rurrenabaque... Only it wasn't in daylight. And the fog was the thickest you've ever seen. I woke up at about 3am and wondered why a) we were driving so slowly b) everyone else was wide-eyed and awake c) why there was a man hanging out the door with a pocket torch shining it on the wheels saying "Derecha, derecha... Izquierda" over and over again.... On parts of it there's a sheer 1000M drop. That's nearly the height of Ben Nevis!

If you were going right, right then left, surely you'd have fallen off sooner or later?

I would bet there is not a lot of drink drining on that route. ;D There was also a distinct lack of speed cameras, if you notice.

This is how I feel about cycling down Brixton Hill in the rush hour ;D
Well, being squashed by an insane lorry driver doesn't make you any less dead than falling down a canyon!

If you were going right, right then left, surely you'd have fallen off sooner or later? I'd rather they clipped the cliff looming above us on the right than missed the inch of roadway on the left.... but I do take your point. The alternatives were interspersed with gradations, like "un poco", "más", "no más", "Decí DERECHA! Vete de carajo, coño, o te lo romparé la cabeza" and such like...

Went back to sleep. It was only at Dawn that I had any inkling of what I'd missed.

I would bet there is not a lot of drink drining on that route. ;D True. The Bolivians chew Coca habitually, but it's no more dodgy than a cig and a coffee, say. But the flipping Indian Lorry Drivers in the Himalayas nearly all seem to puff pot on a permanent basis....

Well, if god has already decided your destiny why not be on pot (as well as not bother with brakes, headlights, any sort of safe driving)

Says someone with no real idea of what pot does, obviously!
Basically smoking pot does the opposite of drinking alcohol as far as driving's concerned. It makes you hyperfocused. A student pal of mine always used to smoke it when driving at night (combined with red bull to keep him awake!) and said he felt loads less likely to have an accident.

Err, at what point did i say the pot contributed to the bad driving/lack of any sort of safety?
