To be fair it was only hearsay so it could be b*llocks. We may never know if they go down ISIHAC, it's not the distance it's the money.

Sorry about Havant, ISIHAC. Bloody Conference!!!
Ah well, now it's MY turn to start panicking with the play-offs looming large. At the start of this season i was generally in favour of play-offs as they keep interest going, cutting down the amount of meaningless end of season games, etc.
Now we have finished 2nd, a good 9pts clear of the 3rd place team, i've come to the conclusion that it's a totally unfair lottery where a bit of luck here and a bad reffing decision there could give someone a promotion they don't deserve.
The issue should be settled over a full season, on a league basis!!!

It's a shame in situations like that, isn't it? But that's life. One season you might have four teams near the top finishing almost equal on points, so it would be almost unfair NOT to have playoffs (plus the reasons you mentioned, Sultan). Then the next season you might have a situation like you described where the second place team is clearly head and shoulders above the other playoff contenders. Pity you can't predict these things!

Cheers Sultan - but to be fair, we could point to home games against Carshalton or Newport where we dropped four points from six agaonst teams we beat away, we lost to Maidenhead, who were already virtually relagated by the time this happened, so the three point deduction was just salt in the wound. The fans are putting on a brave face - there's an end of season bash tonight that will most certainly be more than a wake; and in all honesty, if you had guaranteed that we would not have had to worry about relegation; as we did last season; then I am sure most fans would have been happy. ALSO! I get to see Mr Meds & Amber home and away again next season

Perhaps the best way to look at it is:
You've failed to make a promotion spot "as of right" and you now have a second bite of the cherry to get promotion.
I wish my team were in the conference play-offs. Even if it does mean if we won promotion we'd be playing in a league where points gained on the field count for F**K all. 'Cos they'll relegate who they like.
