Yeah, anyone can be a DJ... Listen to some of my shizzle! The link should open a funky streaming media player. It is new, so might not work. Coops - chuck one up youth and we can all listen to some twee indie jangle whatsit of your choice. Medibottyboy - as you're finally embracing web 2.0 with MySpaz and now Flickr, you need to get last.fm - sort it. Free music - a student couldn't ask for more.

It's called Web 2.0? That would imply somehow that it was better and more stable/easy to use/shinier etc Which isn't really true. Will have a look at last.fm though, expected it to be filled with jangly indie-pop and weirdness though

it works jase, unfortunately it only plays metal or post rock Fortunately, you can skip through stuff. There is currently an emphasis on rock and progressive music, but there are diversions. Funk rock from Living Colour (and something with a very African feel), some old school punk meets pop from Foxx era Ultravox and some ambient dance music courtesy of Orbital. The Blackfield track even has a full orchestra on it. Now I know it works I'll populate it with some more obscure/interesting stuff. It's called Web 2.0? That would imply somehow that it was better and more stable/easy to use/shinier etc Which isn't really true. The term reflects the change from a small number of individuals providing the content to 'the public' providing the content. On the technical side, it encompasses the shift to AJAX driven websites that have user interfaces similar to desktop applications. Google Earth and Flickr's photo management interfaces are prime examples - you couldn't do that stuff 5 years ago. If you can't see how it is "better and more stable/easy to use/shinier etc" you probably haven't explored it enough. Will have a look at last.fm though, expected it to be filled with jangly indie-pop and weirdness though Although there are gaps, last.fm's streaming content covers a very wide spectrum of stuff. Classical music, chart hits, right through to unsigned bands from around the world. No crappy MySpaz codecs fouling up the sound either and because the site is designed by professionals, all of the pages work. The only site I like better than last.fm is musicbrainz.org - technically beautiful, a slick web 2.0 app, very useful and a great opportunity to get all anal about trivial rubbish like song titles. ;D

Talking of drinking (a nice subject for a tangent)...
Several TFC fans will be doing a pub crawl from Shrewsbury to Tamworth on Saturday (May 12th). Depart Tamworth just after 9am and get to Shrewsbury as fast as possible. Working back over the next 12+ hours with stops at Telford, Codsall, Wolverhampton, 'The Black Country', central Brum and finishing at the SRP. I think something like 25-30 establishments are on the agenda. Any dedicated ale drinkers are welcome to drop in. I'll try an e-mail you before I leave the office.
Tangent ends.

I went to some rather lovely pubs last night I shall certainly wish to re-visit the Wheatsheaf in Farnham. Excellent range of ales and brilliant food... the new landlords (husband and wife) were sitting at the table next to us eating their dinner and chatting to us, which was rather cute.
