Not a big fan of them, a bit over-commerialised for my taste.

Thought i'd do another one of these since i'm bored... Arab Strap - Kate MossPossibly the only time an Aidan Moffat monologue doesn't really work for me. A blot on a stunning album. The Flaming Lips - Ego Tripping At The Gates of HellThe Flaming Lips and Tripping, who'd've thought it? The Beatles - I'm a LoserFrom a BBC Sessions CD i fileshared once. Nice tune. Gruff Rhys - Now That the Feeling Has GoneThe living legend of Welsh music. Oasis - WhateverObligatory Oasis track, since i ripped all their CD's from my brother's collection in the summer my shuffle button seems to be in love with them. The Automatic - Keep Your Eyes PeeledStill like this lot which probably has a lot to do with not being a victim of their blanket coverage when the album came out. Jet - Shine On Whatever happened to Jet? Findlay Brown - Paper ManThis is from an album made by a bloke who's also responsible for the song on that Mastercard ad about travelling home for Christams. This isn't that song btw but there is something bizarre about recognising a song from an album you though nobody had bought. Personally, i got my copy from the band after seeing them at The Great Escape a few years back. I think they're officially nearly famous now. Dustin's bar Mitzvah - To The RamonesLibertines-lite with a bit more of a sixth form band feel about them. Was once going to go see them as i was bored and they bloody split up the day before. Incredibly this splitting up just before i see them live thing has happened to me twice! Pog - Waiting ListBrighton favourites. Seemingly unknown elsewhere which is a shame. Really should get round to seeing them live again. Belle & Sebastian - Judy Is A DickslapJust a little instrumental with an excellent name. The Postal Service - This Place Is A PrisonGive Up is an album that always seems to get into any Indie "top albums of all time" charts and aside from the obligatory Neutral Milk Hotel it is usually the only album on the list i actually have. Great song, great album. Y Penderfyniad - Edward H. DafisOff the Welsh Rare Beat album i have. It translates as "The Decision" but the tune transcends my lack of Welsh.

Another collection of bands you've never head of? 01. Masters of Reality – "It's Sh it" 02. Pure Reason Revolution – "In Aurélia" 03. ProtoAngel – "If I Could" 04. no-man – "Animal Ghost" 05. Arcade Fire – "Keep the Car Running" 06. Anathema – "Closer" 07. Dorp – "Boy/Girl" 08. God Is an Astronaut – "When Everything Dies / Halo of Flies" 09. Half Zaftig – "Firefly" 10. Steven Wilson – "No Twilight Within the Courts of the Sun" King's X, probably the best groove rock band in the world, are making a rare visit to the UK this week, playing shows in Wolverhampton on Wednesday and London on Thursday. Naturally, I'll be going to both. If anyone is around said towns on said days, I may be generous enough to get the beers in. Or you could do your ears a favour and go to the show too! ;D From wikipedia: "King's X are an American hard rock band noted by music critics and fans for their sophisticated sound that combines progressive metal, grunge, funk and soul with vocal arrangements influenced by gospel, blues, and British Invasion pop groups. The band's lyrics are largely based on the members' struggles with religion and self-acceptance." You can stream all of their latest album, "XV" at last.fm: www.last.fm/music/King's+X/ Support comes from the highly rated To-Mera (female-fronted prog) and London prog-rockers Haken. The London show is being filmed for possible DVD release.

I'm working on Wednesday though.
