Mansun - Wide Open Space (Acoustic) What disc is that on? I don't think I have it... A sure fire contender for best band name! 01. The DHSS – "The DHSS" (90s Tamworthian electro-punks!) 02. t.A.T.u. – "All the Things She Said" (Fake Russian lesbians!!) 03. a-ha – "Manhattan Skyline" (The finest Scandinavian pop.) 04. Venetian Snares – "Koonut-Kaliffee" (Drill 'n' bass featuring Spock from Star Trek!!!) 05. Orbital – "Belfast" (Wondrous ambient techno from the early 90s.) 06. L.E.O. – "Make Me" (Homage to ELO - nothing to do with Amber...) 07. dredg – "An Elephant In Halong Bay" (lowercase american art-rock.) 08. Mansun – "Cancer" (Criminally underrated experimental 'Brit-pop' from Deeside.) 09. Ungdomskulen – "Modern Drummer" (Obscure, wild, indie gubbins - Danish, i think.) 10. Riverside – "Dna ts. Rednum or F. Raf" (Accomplished progressive rock from Poland.) Nice and obscure! Almost world music too, given all the place names and origins of the bands. With Spock's appearance, it's actually intergalactic! ;D Sadly, the best and most obscure track was 11th on the list, so it doesn't get a mention here... 11. T.F.C. Shed Choir – "Where the Hell Are You From? (feat. Half Pint Henry)" Recorded live on the Mystery Tour Beer Bus, just outside Leek on the way to the FA Cup 3rd round tie at Stoke City. I'm currently the only person in the world with a copy of this musical gem.

I don't have an I-pod, just a wittle 512MB Aigo MP3 player. Can I set the PC to run on shuffle instead or is that cheating?

I don't have an iPod (spit) or any other portable mp3 player. I generate random lists with WinAmp running on the office PC. I've got about 900 tracks on the hard drive at the moment, plus whatever CDs I take to work. Sometimes I use www.last.fm and get a semi-random selection from one of their 'stations'. (last.fm also keeps track of all the stuff I play via computer, which is cool if you're a data geek like me. I'm closing in of 40,000 scrobbled tracks since March 2005 – currently at 36,983.)

\m/(><)\m/ ;D It's on Taxloss, CD No. 2 Ah... Can you throw an mp3 my way? I've got some web space where you can put it. I'm amazed it didn't make it on to "Kleptomania"; I think I'd have preferred it on disc 3 to all those home demo versions. That's definitely the long way round from Tamworth to Stoke. Did you visit any pubs in Leek? Between all the people on the bus, we may have visited every pub in central Leek! We started off with the Yew Tree at Cauldon Low, just to confuse people. They opened at 9:30 a.m. for us! I hit the best four ale pubs in Leek, although I can't remember any names off the top of my head. They were all pretty much on the same street and I'd been to them several times before (and since). Better do some randomness... 01. Snow Patrol – "Make This Go On Forever" 02. Ian Brown – "F.E.A.R. (U.N.K.L.E. mix)" 03. Dorp – "Simon Says" 04. Pure Reason Revolution – "In Aurélia" 05. Fiction Factory – "(Feels Like) Heaven" 06. Madness – "Our House" 07. Heaven 17 – "Temptation" 08. Venetian Snares – "Circle Pit" 09. Doug Pinnick – "Take Cover" 10. Hawkwind – "Silver Machine"

Erm, I'm a total spaz when it comes to computers and have absolutely no idea how to do that. However, if you want to give me some pointers I'll certainly have a go.That's definitely the long way round from Tamworth to Stoke. Did you visit any pubs in Leek? Sounds like St Edwards Street. I would guess The Swan, The Wilkes Head, The Bull's Head(now closed down) and either The Quiet Woman or The Unicorn(which are next door to each otherSome randomness... Teenage Fanclub - Get Funky Nine Inch Nails - 999,999 A - Foghorn Ned's Atomic Dustbin - Selfish Weezer - Beverley Hills James - Sound Hope Of The States - 1776 Temple Of The Dog - Wooden Jesus Terrorvision - When I Die Jane's Addiction - True Nature
