OK, I'm not this guy's biggest fan to begin with, although I know he and Martello are best of friends ;D but now I am absolutely determined that we have to beat Lewes in the next round of the FA Cup or die trying When I got to the turnstiles at Woodford last night, I asked the turnstile operator if they did a student rate, being skint and all. He said no, it was 6 quid for everyone. I made some jokey comment like "Cor, I'm paying more here than I do in our league!" I then heard the bloke behind me in the queue saying something like "It won't be your league for long though will it love, cos you're going down aren't you?" in a very patronising and self-satisfied tone. I turned round and thought, "I recognise this guy from somewhere. Who is he?" It was then his turn at the turnstile and I heard him say "Steve King- manager of Lewes" Ah yes, that was where I'd seen him before. Git. Smug, rude, arrogant git. I tell you what, I'm damned glad it was that match he went to watch, because we played absolutely rubbish and there really wasn't much at all he could have learned from us. If he thinks we're going to play like that at his place...well. I hope we don't. I would give anything to wipe that smile off his face in the next round. In the words of the inimitable Kevin Keegan: "I WILL LOVE IT IF WE BEAT THEM NOW, ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT" That's about as rude as I'm prepared to get on this forum

I'm sure you're right. But he will be, too, if (our collectively beloved*) SUFC doesn't start staging a recovery soon... *Hannah is exempt.

I'm not saying that his comment was unrealistic or wrong. It was the way he said it that got to me. His smug tone was one thing, but when I'd just travelled 100 miles on a Monday night to see a replay that we shouldn't have had to play and were all very nervous about, I didn't need that kind of crap. It's unprofessional in my opinion

And what about next years derbies? I take your point, but it's a rather selfish, guilty desire of yours, and especially to express it on here....
