Speaking to a couple of correspondants on here at the Worcester - Redditch game tonight (I'm a Worcester fan recently relocated full time to Dublin) - and naturally the conversation came onto the subject of tinpot.
I have suggested the following idea for a tour that both of my colleagues seemed very enthusiastic in and suggested we throw it open to the floor on here.
A three/four day trip to the Republic of Ireland - and in particular - Dublin.
It's the chance to tour some of the compact, character filled, slightly tinpot (or fully in the cases of the Carlisle Grounds and Belfield Park ;D) - and also the chance to take in games in either the League of Ireland OR games in all three of the European Compeitions (Champions League, UEFA Cup and Intertoto)
The beauty of this though is that we play our season here between March and November - meaning it can be done during the English close season.
And finally - in keeping with the Tinpot theme - the European games will all be in the Qualifier Rounds - meaning the chance to see some of the more obscure European teams in action in Ireland.
I'm looking at numbers who would be interested - the thinking from us all tonight is to sort this as early as possible to give people time to arrange stuff - I can then go away and sort out accomodation and other stuff (including a few pleasant surprises which I shall unveil at a later date) at this end.
(ATM there'll be three definitely coming)

You thinking in terms of a minibus? Or flying? Or Public Transport??

Train - ferry. Dirt cheap. Flying will be faster, but you'll have to pay a fair amount unless you book very early.
Would definitely recommend Dublin if you've never been, but there isn't much to the place. You can do all of the decent drinking establishments in one night, although Guinness drinkers can choose several other notable (but packed) bars. The footie grounds I saw were incredibly tinpot!
If it were a mid-week tour I might consider it, but almost certainly wouldn't waste a weekend on it.

We can do either of two things:
1). European Games on the Wednesday and Thursday, a League game on Friday night and an Intertoto game on Saturday
2). League game on Friday, League game on Saturday, League game on Sunday, possible League game on Monday night

Technically, you don't need a passport. Any photo ID should be enough within the EU.
Having a passport is a good idea though.

Technically you don't need a passport but technically transport company staff aren't c*nts but these assumptions are usually proven wrong.

3 of us did similar last summer. Not Dublin though, Cork. Saw Cork City on the Friday night, and their 1st division neighbours Cobh Ramblers on the Saturday night. Absolutey Top notch weekend, definitely recommend it. Though the overnight ferry from Swansea to Cork can be a bit of a stomach churner even in early August.
