You haven't even mentioned the suicide! Considered it lacking in taste but it was the reason for the bus part of our train/tube/bus/train/taxi effort. No walk involved? I think a good suicide's a quintessential part of the multifaceted cornucopia of a myriad-fractilled counterpane, which IS the Tinpot day out.

A Tinpot Tour at Yeading?
No thanks. Not after lunch.

I've done something really boring and looked at the NS fixtures. Last day of the season (Sat 28 April) sees Hayes, Havant and Sutton all playing in the London area (at Welling, Fisher and Thurrock respectively). So possibilities then?
Sadly, Salisbury are at home that day (and possibly giving Basingstoke the concrete overcoat treatment). Sutton are entertaining the Whites on the Saturday of the Easter weekend (although travelling up to the Smoke by train that weekend is going to be a challenge, what with Network Rail digging up the tracks at the aforementioned roundabout town).

Have read about that. Isn't going to help with our plans of making opening time in Sutton.

Yeah, could be a bit tricky for us Country Cousins to meet you fine lot that weekend. We'll be breathing in The Smoke the weekend before (en route to/from Braintree), so would be up for a diversion for some diversion on the 21st, perhaps? Sutton and Hayes are at home; tho' H&W are down in Sunny Hampshire... As you say, AA, our visit to Sutton might be an opportunity - several Londony Clubs home, or in the vicinity. Though Havant probably don't need to go through London to get to Lewes, or do they? [From Salisbury we can't even seem to get to (the famous) Bemerton Heath without travelling through Waterloo... ]

Have read about that. Isn't going to help with our plans of making opening time in Sutton. Especially if you get the rail replacement bus driver from when I went to our game at Crawley away, who got lost, went round in circles and had to be given directions by the passengers.

When there's beer there's a way malx In a way your comment is paradoxical - WITHOUT beer, one might drive, and get up to Sutton in time for breakfast. WITH beer, the only way is Public Transport...

I wonder if the 'directions' they gave just happened to divert the Bus Route right past their front doors....

Whither Stamford?? Damn and arse! There is to be a mini-tour at Worcesteseter for the home fixture against Frankieville! But all you lot will be otherwise engaged watching your own teams I suspect. Other than that, I and J will endeavour to get to wherever you all decide to be - just as long as you do not decide to be there between 5th and 19th May!

There is to be a mini-tour at Worcesteseter for the home fixture against Frankieville! When? The facetious answer would be "When they play each other" ;D The factual one is Saturday 21st April. It's the final game at St George's Lane ( groundshare and redevelopment loom) - and having met fans from both clubs, promises to be a cracking day out!

Hmm...a bit of a quandry then, Tamuff are at home to Altrincham, which would normally hold very little appeal given the paucity of entertainment in our last few meetings! But it might be a vital "must win" game. If we are either definitely safe (unlikely!) or definitely doomed then I might well head down for a last look at one of the finest football grounds I've had the privilege of visiting.
