The BBC Sport site has been sent some crackers for inclusion in their regular Quotes of the Week feature. One of my favourites was Colchester and Norwich fans competing with each other with the line "We hate Ipswich, we hate Ipswich, WE HATE IPSWICH MORE THAN YOU!" ;D Classic. Think we'll be trying that at Havant in a couple of weeks time in celebration of our mutual friends from the local circus that is Eastleigh FC!

"Is This The Way To Amarillo"
Matty Tubbs, Matty, Matt Tubbs (oi oi) Matty Tubbs, Matty, Matt Tubbs (oi oi) Matty Tubbs, Matty, Matt Tubbs Score a goal for Salisbury.
"Robin Hood"
Lukey Prince, Lukey Prince Running down the wing Lukey Prince, Lukey Prince He'll do anything Give him the ball He'll do it all Lukey Prince, Lukey Prince, Lukey Prince.
I can't read and I can't write That don't really matter I come up from Salisbury And I can drive a tractor
(and the 2nd verse, which only Carps and me seem to know) :
Plough a field, and milk a cow Drive a gurt big mower But the thing I like to do the best Is be a City supporter (ooh arr, ooh arr, ooh arr, ooh arr, ooh arr)
All highly original of course.

Sparrowhawk, Sparrowhawk, flying down the wing, Sparrowhawk, Sparrowhawk, hear the 'ayes boys sing, Loved by the Hayes, Feared by The Ding! Sparrowhawk, Sparrowhawk, Sparrowhawk

Seems bizarre how embarrassed we've been - at least through most of my life - about being British.... We're not a bad bunch, really. And it's gotta beat being French or American, for starters! ;D OASN, I've already warned ISIHAC that the Salisbury will be outdoing the Hawks fans on the "We hate Eastleigh more than you" song! May it be witnessed by all that the gauntlet is officially bunged!

I challenge thee to a duel!
A hating-Eastleigh duel!
Choose thy weapon!
I choose my voice!
Etcetera.

"If people are trying to upset the apple cart, they're barking up the wrong tree."
AFC Totton chairman Richie Maton is clearly on a sponsored cliche-a-thon as he warns clubs off manager Stuart Ritchie. (Andrew Raeburn, England). Marvellous

(Originally spotted by DaveT) Quote from Eastleigh's Manager, Paul Doswell, on signing a new goalkeeper:"Jamie Pullen is the last piece in the Jigsaw for us." EDIT: four 5 losses and two 3 new players later......... [Remind me NOT to buy that particular jigsaw for Granny this Christmas! ] The other day in the Southampton Echo Doswell talked about 'his team'. It's still November and they've already used about 46 players this season. Which 'team' can he possibly be talking about?!

"If people are trying to upset the apple cart, they're barking up the wrong tree."
AFC Totton chairman Richie Maton is clearly on a sponsored cliche-a-thon as he warns clubs off manager Stuart Ritchie. (Andrew Raeburn, England). Marvellous When I saw that particular gem - quoted on the Non League Daily site - flagged up on the Conference South forum, I couldn't resist! Some more classics spotted by the Beeb - or sent into them - and this time I can't take any credit for them! "Some of our people who were watching him were amazed at how fast he ran." Gary Kubiak, coach of NFL side Houston Texans, is surprised at the speed of Justin Gatlin, who has been training with the team while awaiting the outcome of his drugs case. Just to confirm, that's world record-breaking sprinter Justin Gatlin."I would not like to see a foreigner come in." Mike Catt on the appointment of Andy Robinson's succssor. That's Mike "I was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa" Catt."He's been in a different class in training and on the pitch. He's a lovely guy and if I had a daughter, I'd let him marry her. But I haven't got a daughter and he's already married, so there you go." Terry Butcher about Sydney FC midfielder Robbie Middleby.Chants of the week[/u] Joint winners, for me. Firstly, this truly genius offering from the 'Appy 'Ammers... "If you made a lot of money selling biscuits, buy our club." West Ham fans welcome their new owner, the biscuit baron Eggert Magnusson, with a rousing chorus to the tune of the old Club biscuit TV advert. And that Barmy lot on a hiding to nothing Down Under... "Rain in a minute, its gonna rain in a minute" The Barmy Army during England's defeat to Australia in the first Ashes Test
