Having had an amusing experience today, I thought it was time to start a "misheard lyrics" thread.
Someone had put the radio on at work and a song I'd never heard was on. Unfortunately I can't remember for the life of me what the song was called, and it was by someone I'd never heard of, but there was one line that made me think, "Hang on- that can't be right!"
I looked up the lyrics on the internet, and the line in question turned out to be:
"She's a dark goddess in hiding, but she's your lover in adversity"
I was most disappointed. I could have sworn he was singing,
"She's your dungarees on the ironing board; she's at Loughborough University"
I think my version makes far more sense than the original. If anyone knows what the song is called, please remind me as it's annoying me now.
I was once at a friend's house and we were listening to a bit of Crowded House. My friend, the queen of misheard lyrics, was singing along. Instead of "Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over," however, she belted out, "Hey now, hey now, I'm three years older"
This is the same friend who was convinced that the bit in Boulevard of Broken Dreams that goes "I walk alone, I walk alone" was actually "I wore cologne, I wore cologne"
Hmm.

When I first heard "Constant Cravings" by KD Lang I was convinced she was singing:
"God bless gravy"
Which would have been brilliant!

Something from the 80's and I still don't know what the actual lyrics are and can't remember what the song was called. Anyhoo, the line in question went (or so I thought)
Children of darkness threw up on the beach.
