I'm doing something for supporters club newsletter (December edition) about matches played on Christmas day.
Worcester had a few Xmas day encounters with the Shropshire outfit 'Oakengates town'? early 1900's to 1940's
A internet search as revealed no joy on this team, they appear to be over shadowed by wellington/telford.
Any help appreciated

1900-1940 is a bit before my time (especially considering I only started being a regular at matches in 2004 when there were financial problems.) If there is still an Oakengates Town then I couldn't find them, even as low down as the Telford Combination (step 10 in non-league pyramid). There is currently a team called Oakengates Athletic who play in the Shropshire County First Division www.scpfl.co.uk/ (which I think is about Step 9 of the non-league pyramid, 2 divisions below the E&S West Midland.) Whether this is the same teamv with a name change or not I don't know.

I once went to see Pop Will Eat Itself at the Oakengates theatre. ;D That may not be helpful though.

Oakengates theatre, great place, though for some odd reason Telford & Wrekin Council have since renamed it 'The Place'......haven't a clue why.
