I would argue that it is not something completely different. Being the day before and day after means they are atleast a day away from the origin, just in different directions. So to remember something from the mechanics module of further maths A-level: it is effectively a vector with magnitude and direction. The magnitude is the same but the direction is opposite. So assuming the day after could be measured by D, the day before would be measured by -D if measuring them from the day of the match, also known as the origin, or simply O. ....in other news I think maths is killing me.

Oddly enough I did a maths paper earlier this week. And I have two further maths ones in a couple of weeks. If you're waiting for me to pass any of them though that could be a wait in vain.
