Loud; you are most welcome - feel free to invite more along!
I feel that I should nail my early competition allegiance to Wellingborough Town - absolute no-hopers; but will soon be my local team!
I am not expecting to get to the 4th round proper again this season - so who's top tip for a cup run then??

I'm going to pick Parkgate purely because the winners of their tie with Norton United (which is about 7-8 miles away) will be playing Leek Town in the next round.
*Promptly puts a hex on our chances of getting anywhere in the FA cup this season*
Are we now the most tinpot side supported on here?

Are we now the most tinpot side supported on here? Probably, although I will be following Bilston Town (2007) this season, partly to be able to visit several grounds I haven't been to before and partly because of the availability of loads of very decent pubs in the West Midlands!

I have been tempted by Crawley Down (wishful thinking), Formby (because they appear to be pointless - get it?) and a number of local teams that I might actually be able to go and see, but I've decided to go for an old favourite - Atherton Laburnum Rovers. Anyone on here caught shortening their name to 'Atherton LR' will be given a swift boot somewhere painful! I've already visited their ground, watched them play and seen them loose, so I'm guessing the only way is up. They are currently in the Northwest Counties Premier League and they have been at that level for as long as I can remember. I'm sure their website will point out any lapses in my conenctration (and their performance) if they have been bobbing up and down the pyramid. www.athertonlr.co.uk/They have been drawn away to Dinnington, a team formed to help dispose of the EU letter 'n' mountain. If they win, they are away again at Chorley and another win will set up another away tie at either Lancaster or Salford City. Seems like they'll need all the support they can get, even if it is virtual. The FA Vase hasn't been much kinder, palming them off with a trip to Penrith, but they do get a home game if they win - shame it's against those 'n' merchants Dinnington. Should they progress they'll meet Blackpool Mechanics or Squires Gate at home. Oooo - the excitement! There are some quality fixtures lined up for pre-season, including a visit from renamed Welshies Gap Connah's Quay, and a series of fixtures in the prestegious Goldline Trophy - a tournament bristeling with quality team names! (Charnock Richard! Breightmet United! Euxton Villa! Stoneclough! Tempest United!) The Laburnum Rovers part of their name comes from the name of the ground where the club started - Laburnum Playing Fields, although the club frequently turn out in pal 'Laburnum yellow' shirts. The team currently plays its home games at Crilly Park, named after former chairman Jack Crilly. It wasn't until 1980 that the club were forced to add the Atherton to their name, thanks to a stupid Cheshire County League rule. The club have only competed in the FA Cup for the last 19 seasons and have never got further than a third qualifying round replay.

It's a year to the day since I made my only post on this forum so it's time to come and visit you again. If you don't play too rough I might come and see you more often. I'm picking Yorkshire Amateur again for the same reason as last time which is that it's the closest club to me. The Ammers have been drawn away to Armthorpe Welfare. I'll probably go to the replay if there is one. They'll need to put in a really good performance to get through as Armthorpe are top of the NCEL Premier Division and the Ammers are bottom of NCEL Division One although curiously they have identical playing records of P 0, W 0, D 0, L 0, F 0, A 0, Pts 0. Yorkshire Amateur AFC was founded in November 1918.... oh, sod this. Read it yourself here www.yorkshireamateur.co.uk/History.htm. They did get to the semi-final of the F.A. Amateur Cup in 1932, which they lost to Marine, after beating Wimbledon in a quarter-final replay. Their best F.A. Cup seasons were 1931/32 and 1945/46 when they reached the 1st Round Proper. The first time they lost to Carlisle United and the second time they lost to Lincoln City 5-2 on aggregate (the only season where two-legged ties were played) after winning the first leg at home 1-0. It's 25 years since they got past the 1st Qualifying Round.

Right - there are 203 ties (except no. 52 a walkover.)
I will use a random number generator on my calculator to decide which tie and the toss of a coin to decide the home or away team.
If I pick a tie already in use I will redraw.
Are you ready?

Hello, and welcome to St Johns in Worcester for the live draw of DazaB's selection for the Tinpot Terrace FA Cup game thingy of 2008.
So, first we have the coin toss, heads will be the home side, tails will be the away side.
