How sweet of you!
I think you made us lose to a Lower League side on penalties tonight...

And Tamworth are top of the connie north, and Burton near the top of conf arrogant.
It's going to be hard to keep this goodwill going...

Leek Town haven't won in 12 games. I trust this will cheer you up Sultan. Incidentally, how is Macca doing for you lot. He was with us for 8 years and was hugely popular amongst the fans.

and Burton near the top of conf arrogant. Does us knocking them out of the Setanta Shield help or does that add insult to injury because we're Telford? Have just heard the situation at Stafford and the degree of it. All the best, Stafford is one of the games everyone at the Bucks Head has been looking forward to this season?

Hi folks, been off for some time due to Smalldude hogging the revision sites during his mock GCSE's and my base computer being too old to install my brand spanking new wireless LAN First Giggy, thanks for the good wishes. Our games against you SHOULD probably still go ahead though i can't vouch for what kind of XI will be turning out. Obviously now the players are free to leave when they like, the situation changes rapidly. With the exception of a few, this team is the creation of our dearly departed ex-manager MBE and Bully's Boys are bailing. Don't know if i shall be attending or not (certainly won't be going to Telford because Mrs Sultan hates your shopping centre with a passion so i wouldn't be able to double it up as a shopping trip as we generally do for home games) I may go to MR if i can crawl out of bed in time. Whatever. I'm sure you'll enjoy the game far more than i will Secondly, Peekay. By now you probably have a far better idea of how Macca is doing than i ! Rumour has it he has returned to you, having not won over all the Boro fans. After seeing him against Tamworth from behind the goal a little ditty came into my mind, based on Dean Martin's Amore (sings) "When you're up in row Z And the ball hits your head That's MacPherson!" One ex-Leek player who DID make a good impression was Jake Moult. Hear he could be returning to you soon if not already there. BTW, was Louie Briscoe one of your's, too? He impressed us in his short stay after leaving Gresley Rovers (who are even worse off than we are) only to go to Alfreton on finding he'd jumped from the frying pan into the deep fat fryer. Sadly i just can't get too worked up about the situation. At one time, i risked jumping from a moving train to make a match on time. Now i feel that if SRFC goes bump then que sera, sera. A Wombles fan on here told me."at least they haven't taken your club away." Well at the moment, i'd be prepared to hold the bloody door open for them! Over the last 20 years or so it's turned into a nasty little organisation showing utter contempt for supporters, players and staff alike, with a horrible, crumbling little ground and a dwindling, increasingly nasty little fan base to match. My only motivation for going to games these days is to get a bit of peace and quiet away from the Toyota press shop where i work, an angry, shouty, Chinese wife who watches Chinese TV dramas where angry, shouty Chinese people shout at each other angrily in Chinese and an angry, shouty teenage son who loves heavy metal. Oh for the pleasure of sinking back into my plastic seat and sighing "Ah!!!! Peace at last!" I certainly don't go there for the fare on offer. >:(3-5-1 at home and consequently a grand total of 3 league goals (one of which was scored by an opponent) speaks volumes for the crap which we expected to pay £11 a time to endure. It's for people who find watching paint dry is far too exciting for them. I will definately be keeping the goodwill going because whatever petty biases and hates we have (and i freely admit that in the cases of Telford and Burtscum it's plain jealousy that someone local has done things right and been succesful as the bunch of financially and cerebrally depleted clowns running my club into the ground have fleeced and bored me into submission, while my animosity for Leek would have disappeared years ago had my late Father not had his stroke within weeks of THAT FA Trophy Semi ) it's the friendships / acquaintances that we make off the pitch as fellow non-leaguies that matter more. I've dropped the negative vibes of wanting to see people fail. Keep enjoying your footy folks and i'm sure that the positive vibes from your enjoyment will rub off and i'll be back loving it again in the not too far distant future. Helloooo again, Wednesfield? ;D

It ay looking good for yer is it our kid?
The annual AGM Cup should be interesting this season, I have now counted at least eight clubs in steps 1 & 2 who might not make it to next season, and many more below them.
Are Stuffed 4-0 Rangers going down the administration route then?

Helloooo again, Wednesfield? ;D That Womble was me. It doesn't sound good for your club, and here's me bemoaning the fact the we lost in the trophy to lower opposition, that I'm too much of a wuss to brave the terraces in weather like this (having gone down with the flu after the Eastleigh game - stewarding for 3 1/2 hours combined with a knackered car heater contributed), and generally we're absolute shite at the moment. Doesn't really compare to Stafford's problems. BTW, think yourself lucky that your sprog is hogging revision websites. My daughter seems to think she's going to fail the lot so she's not bothered. Bet your son does well.

Never been happy with the education in Merton, I take it she's at a Merton School. Misses works at RPH and the c--p she has to put up with is unbelieveable. The kids who want to work sometimes cannot because of the yobs!

Sultan - Yes, Louis Briscoe was our top scorer last season with 19 goals. Am I right in thinking he spent some time on loan at Stafford a couple of seasons ago when he was still at Port Vale? Dorryl Proffitt is another ex-Leek player but I hear he's staying on at Stafford. Giggy, on the subject of ex players you may be interested in what's being happening with Darren Alexander. After signing him in the summer of 2007 he played the early part of the season out of position, either as a holding midfielder or as a centre half. In early October he finally played his first game for us up front... and smashed his knee. A few weeks ago he stepped up his training and was close to a return. Playing in his first competitive game in over 12 months for his university team he broke his leg! The poor guy has had absolutely rotten luck. I hope he'll be able to return to playing.

Playing in his first competitive game in over 12 months for his university team he broke his leg! The poor guy has had absolutely rotten luck. I hope he'll be able to return to playing. Gutted to hear that, I was a big fan of Darren Alexander. He gave his all every time he played for us. he played prettymuch every position for us at some point. Played in defence during the defender shortage of 2004, spent a fair part of the 2004/05 season in midfield.....then obviously playing as a striker with the time left over. Even played in goal on 3 occasions, the 1-1 draw with Rossendale after Stuart Brock suffered a broken leg, the 4-1 defeat to Shrewsbury when Steve Taylor was sent off and the 3-1 defeat to Frickley when Ryan Young suffered a broken ankle. When he signed he was pencilled in as backup keeper and to his credit he went into goal at 1-1 against Rossendale, therefore he kept a clean sheet. Last we saw was the season after he left once he had joined Hednesford. He was arguably their best player on the pitch for both Christmas matches (0-0 draw in Telford, then we won 1-0 in Hednesford) but was sent off in the latter for a 2-footed lunge on Lee Vaughan. In fairness he deserved to walk but his strike partner then didn't even get booked for a worse challenge while our keeper Brockie and another of their players were also a bit lucky to stay on the pitch after some ugly scenes mid-way through the 2nd half - so he can count himself unlucky to have been the one who went off We since heard that he had moved onto Stamford (offered a contract I think) and then Leek, where we heard about his injury. All the best to him, hopefully he'll be back ASAP.

It ay looking good for yer is it our kid? The annual AGM Cup should be interesting this season, I have now counted at least eight clubs in steps 1 & 2 who might not make it to next season, and many more below them. Are Stuffed 4-0 Rangers going down the administration route then? To answer the second question first, i think that the board will try their hardest to avoid the admin route because of the amount of their own money they will lose from the "director loans" that they have put in. It doesn't look good and the present board seem to blunder at every turn. Even when they eventually granted STRIPES (supporteres trust) a meeting they stuffed up. It was revealed that £80k was needed to pay off the company providing the scaffolding stands, a sum payable by the end of the season regardless of whether the bloody monstrosities go back immediately (as the fans want) or not. The company involved have stated that they were the ones who sent Boston over the edge and would not hesitate to do the same to us. Rumour has it that on Saturday their representative is coming up to Stafford to collect the entite takings for the Telford home game as part payment. Another, undisclosed, payment after the 80k would make the scaffolding SRFC property and a company asset. The board felt that this was the best way to proceed and then issued a clarion call to us to " Save our Stands" This went down like a lead ballon amongst friendly AFCTU fans who had been prepared to help us and add to the collection of two individuals making a sponsored walk to Telford on New Years Day, but don't feel like they want to contribute towards saving two piles of ugly metal, wood and plastic covered by a tarpaulin. This followed the other classic example of how to win friends and influence people of sacking Steve Bull 2 days before Wolves fans were due to hold a collection for Stafford Rangers. Not surprisingly, this was cancelled. If 20k Wolves fans had stuck in 50p each, well....

Incidentally, I was having a pint with Stayvie Bull's Dad earlier today in The Rising Sun in Tipton, he knows my Dad quite well, they used to work together. The subject of his son's sacking came up (of course) but he just said that Steve had walked away with his head held high and he still wants to make it as a manager.

To be fair to the board i'm sure that they did not have prior knowledge that help was on it's way from the land of the pork scratching, it was just one of those bits of misfortune that seems to dog the financially and cerebrally depleted who just can't seem to bumble their way out of enough trouble to make any real headway.
Talking of things Black Country, we had two of the officials from Wolverhampton and one from Tip'un yesterday, and had several decisions go against us that robbed us of at least a well-earned point.
1) Telford wing-back commits TWO bookable offences (one a two-footed tackle from behind)- No yellow cards! 2) Their keeper held down Wayne Daniel in the area rugby-style at a time when we led 1-0 - No penalty! 3) SRFC defender makes what is deemed by even the Radio Shropshite commentator to be a fair tackle- Penalty! 4) Telford penalty-taker "stutters" in his run up and keeper saves - Penalty retaken and scored!
Methinks these were Bully-jizzers taking misguided revenge for their hero.
Btw, you've got a good keeper at your place now, who was picked up from Accrington reserves by SRFC and became an England "C" International, only to end up moving to Tamworth fee-free.
One persons misfortune and all that.....
