I love Tinpot Teams; the more tinpot the better. One of my favourites is Combined Counties League side Coulsdon Town, who I really must go and see as they're quite local to me (here I look expectantly at martello, my fellow lover of tinpoticity), because of their website if nothing else. Look! www.coulsdontownfc.com/ you can confuse the website by moving the mouse very quickly around the home page. ;D Also I've been on that site about 50 times, but the counter says I'm only its 5055th visitor The reason why they're my Tinpot Team of the Week is this. Their last three results (the website is too tinpot to show any others) have been two consecutive 5-2 defeats followed by a 5-5 draw which generated a huge crowd of...fourteen! ;D Beat that for tinpoticity!

I'm going really Tinpot tomorrow (can't make Tamuff due to time restraints). I will be at Wednesbury Town Vs Wyrley Juniors - West Midlands League Division Two. No websites here, but they do have a lovely main stand: Picture taken from the absolutely wonderful Pyramid Passion website, more Tinpottery than you can shake a stick at!

I like the way they've put that miniature slate roof (complete with mock chimneys) on top of the main stand... Touch of class, don't you think?

Wednesbury's a bit of a tinpit place these days isn't it? One of those Black Country towns like Oldbury, Darlaston and Coseley that was thriving during the industrial revolution but went into a slow, sad decline during the twentieth century.
There is a half-decent pub in Wednesbury, the Old Blue Ball in Hall End. I was there in May.
[btw Malx, Oi zinc you may have been confusing your onze with your ass!]

One of those Black Country towns like Oldbury, Darlaston and Coseley that was thriving during the industrial revolution but went into a slow, sad decline during the twentieth century. Yes, a lot of the towns around here were built up around the giant foundries which sat next to their own coal mines, when they closed down the towns effectively closed down as well. Some, like Darlaston, have never recovered, others, such as Bilston, are bouncing back really well. Wednesbury isn't too bad but suffers from easy access to Brum and Wolverhampton, who wants to shop in Wednesbury when you can be in Brum in 20 minutes on the Metro? I was in there last week. There are loads of good boozers around here! I will be in The Olde White Rose and The Trumpet in Bilston tomorrow afternoon.

Been to both of the Bilston pubs - they're excellent! (My brother lives in Wolverhampton, hence my occasional presence in the area!)
