Has Joe Poppy killed Pyramid Portal?

I went on the Pyramid Portal earlier to post my predictions for the day. Was just checking back to see if anything was going on "over there" only to get an error message "PHPbb critical error cannot connect to database."

Does this mean that PP has now officially died? Has Joe Poppy returned to perform the coup-de-grace?

It's really sad the way things turned out. Especially since "samd" and "esaj" have registered for tinpot terrace it seems near as damn it all of us are here anyway.

Smalldude (my son to any non-PP folks) asked me if we were all going to go somewhere else, why didn't we just stay where we were in the first place.

I started my answer with "Well! Isn't it obvious!" only to find it isn't really. We've got a second chance and some interesting new folks, so lets try not to poo on our own doorstep again guys and gals.....

I noticed the same thing just, went on to check if any more predictions had been made in the prediction league and it was gone.

We all knew it was going to come sooner or later but its still sad even for reletively new portallers like myself. Its the end of an era.

I know it's not possible to save this weeks predictions now and with the weather probably wiping out some of the games possibly not worth it anyway, but i'm sure that you have the running totals written down somewhere and it might be worth throwing it open to the membership whether we would like you to "transfer" the Portal Predictions over here to finish off the season.

Worky Town v SRFC fell victim to the weather earlier on. Anyone else frozen out?

Has the end finally come this time? Prediction league on it's last week, me and Giggy level tops and the all i can get is "cannot find server"

We may never find out who won now.

I never found PP but I like this site because it's not full of morons shouting at and abusing each other. I must be mellowing in my dotage

It's not the first time people have been confronted with such a message and gone "Oh No! Is this the end of portal?" only to have it resurface a little while later.

I think you'll find the hosting has expired, or maybe just the domain registration. Joe Poppy is notoriously difficult to contact at the best of times, but I'm lead to believe that PP will be back bigger and better than ever before. (It was meant to be so much more than a message board...) Don't expect it before the summer though.

Well i just figured since it started in May 2003 it would make sense for the hosting to run out then too.
