I await with pleasure the renewal of my acquaintance with the Salisbury Three- not the original Salisbury Three perhaps, but the beeriest ones.

Right then. Bumped and stickied - and there's not many threads that can claim that!! The roll of honour appears to be thus: SCFC travelling in and out for the day. A combination of Choccy-Amber types, a Boro type and a Bobbin appear to want to stay - and in the absence of any further confirmed need for a place to rest weary heads, I will try and get three rooms of varying configuration - but can't pay in full cos I'm unlikely to get there.... Help!

I have a seriously difficult and important exam tomorrow as well as a seriously difficult and important personal decision to make at the same time so if anyone else can do this it would be a big help. Otherwise I'll throw myself right into it when my exams finish at the end of this week, but that may be a little late! What's happened to other people who were going to stay- MiB, Jase, ye olde usual suspects?

Right, this is the last chance for any other tinpotters to join the Riverside sleepover party!
Or for any of those already on board to change any arrangements already relayed to ISIHAC!
You have until about 10 pm tomorrow (Wednesday) evening - whereafter I shall commence booking operations.
I shall seek accommodation for two nights, i.e. Fri/Sat and Sat/Sun.
(We may have left things a bit late, so do be prepared for disappointment.)

It'll be a day job for me, on the condition of a very good weather forecast now that they're not covering any stages.
The main Riverside stage is very varied this year, with most of the noise bands on the open air Marquee stage. Headline band is a chuffin' Bhangra band and there are lots of other 'fusion' acts playing. Lots of indie music, fair amount of pop-punk, a couple of metal bands - didn't notice much in the way of ska or nu-rave, so maybe those fads are dead already. There are a couple of 'name' acts on the bill, the most notable of which is Kid iD. They'll probably be garbage, but they are in the pack racing to be 2008's next big thing.
Only two bands I'm personally interested in seeing - heavy electronica band Fenech-Soler (sort of NIN meets 80s synthpop) and thrash metal band Chokehold that sound like they've been time warped from 1990 (and also have a comical video full of explosions).
There had better be a couple of decent beers on, otherwise I'll be spending time drinking the Ufford stuff in the pubs!

I reckon somebody should employ you as a festival reviewer, it'd stop every single one being written up like it was the greatest thing on earth. Of course though, what really makes Stamford great is the fact a load of silly people who all like non-league football go to a big field by a nice river and get drunk together

Erm, that was a preview - reviews are a totally different kettle of fish... www.last.fm/event/247680/reviewsYou've got to question any review that bums every artist on the bill at a festival, but there does seem to be a growing trend to write about everything as if it were the mutts nuts from start to finish. There's no need to bash things for the sake of it, but if you don't like/enjoy something, there's no harm in saying so - it's just the opinion of an individual.

Given how close the festival site is to a river and the recent (not to mention continuing) damp weather, does anyone know for sure if this event is still happening?

There's no news on the website, which admittedly is rather tinpot.

Only just found the Website, and yes, it's hardly comprehensive about the details of the Beers, or the arrangements they employ for selling it - By this I mean is it a traditional Bar, or are there tokens/vouchers (due to Licensing Regs) or some other such arrangement. Guess we'll work it out on the Day. It always amuses me to see people on a Forum NOT getting on too well! riversidefest.proboards40.com/index.cgi?board=riverside&action=display&thread=1180616309
