Just found this forum, like many others I like the look of it, much better than connie south.
My pick would be Bideford. Had a short break there several weeks ago and throroughly enjoyed it. Also, they are playing Keynesham Town a club that I have noticed from the train as I travel from Fareham to Newport.
Bidefords ground looked like a good old fashioned ground from the outside, floodlights in the corners, slightly neglected - just how grounds should be! Founded in the forties, first game was against Newton Corinthians - they won 5 - 0. Best FA Cup success has been the first round proper (4 times) including 1977/78 which saw them go out to Portsmouth 3-1 before a crowd of 10,312.

It is at the moment, but I'm sure it'll go back to civilisation at the beginning of the season as usual. I did do a bit of subtle advertising on there recently Hello Bigfoot. Remind me who you support? Nice to have you on here; welcome Bideford's a very nice place too!

We like to think, Meadow, that the emphasisi is upon quality - not quantity. There are noprizes for one word retorts or smiley only posts - though these do have their place of course! Once the season kicks off, you'll find match reports, the usual range of grumbles and moans about officials, away / home fans; that "penalty" not given; or the one that was, but against you. That sort of thing. The difference is the number of leagues involved; and the range of interests. Coops - our resident and highly articulate groundhopper, is a Tamuff fan - though his blogg is full of visits to grounds around and about as well as the usual tortuous fare served up at The Lamb Amber & Mr Meds will move heaven and earth to get to a Sutton game - and have actually done so before now! Keep yer eyes open for Birthdays, invites to Tinpot Terrace Tours - Oh yes; we get around.......

Hi ambersalamander,
I am a Havant and Waterlooville fan - as such feeling nervous about the number of people who are tipping us for promotion. I think that it will be a very competitive league and that no one team will move clear - of course, this could just be me trying not to believe too much to avoid any dissappointment if we don't live up to the pre season hype.
I like the feeling that this forum is for supporters of teams to trade comments etc without the bile and bad feeling that is on the connie south forum. I think that it was a posting from you (as Sutton Sal?) that led me here. Hopefully I can contribute to the chatter in a positive way - I have never bothered on the connie south because of the above.
Cheers for the welcome.

The difference is the number of leagues involved; and the range of interests. Coops - our resident and highly articulate groundhopper, is a Tamuff fan - though his blogg is full of visits to grounds around and about as well as the usual tortuous fare served up at The Lamb Teamhopper if you please. Groundhoppers are sad, strange creatures who carry a Tesco Bag for Life and have to touch every corner flag and buy a cup of tea or it "doesn't count". I just watch as many different teams as I can, carry a camera that never works and drink beer. I do like to touch the corner flags though.

Amber & Mr Meds will move heaven and earth to get to a Sutton game - and have actually done so before now! I can't imagine too many people have flown to get to games. I've done it three times

OK - time to come clean! On Con Sth I am Colonel Hawk. FAO Bigfoot - I have The Undertaker on the back of my blue & white stripe shirt (as worn at Llanelli last season) whenever at WLP - which will be infrequent as I now live in Wellingborough Do you use the club board??

Amber & Mr Meds will move heaven and earth to get to a Sutton game - and have actually done so before now! Seems like I'm in illustrious company. As I have a family, my husband insists I 'get a life' now and then. I make most home Saturday matches (work permitting) and a few local away matches. Weeknights are nigh on impossible

Hi ISIHAC, I don't post on the club boards as at work my internet usage is subject to 'quotas' and the club site tags prevent me from posting. Fortunately this is not a problem with this site ;o) I have noticed your postings as Colonel Hawk, can't remember them now as I have not visited since finding this site. I stand between the dugouts with a couple of mates at most home games - they are noticeable by their bulk, that said the days of being slim and fit are perhaps a little behind me now (

Welcome then, to the world of the random and the desperate! In a footy-viewing sense that is. From the teamhopper (snob!! ) to those who use Easyjet to get from Gateshead to Eastbourne; fans all. I have seen threads elsewhere which ask what makes a real fan, or ask how many consecutive games people have seen; that sort of thing. I hate them. They try to suggest that only by seeing every minute of every game, can you become a real, true fan. Meds & Amber love Sutton. Simple as that. They do what they do; Meadow does what she does and loves AFCW. We all, in our way, do what we do because we want to - and that's that. No prizes, other than the joy of seeing your team achieve where it matters most. Respect, folks. The season draws nigh - BRING IT ON!!

I haven't missed a home or away game for five. Is that OK? It does include friendlies. My boyfriend keeps trying to guilt-trip me away from games though. He hasn't managed yet, but we do have the most monumental rows about it sometimes
