I bow down to these dedicated fools :Po I am in a bit of trouble because our first home game is on my 40th birthday and my wife thinks that I should do something special for it - what can be more special than seeing your team continue their 100% start to the season? I assume that Weston will lose graciously as a gift to me

You have to put your (big) foot down. It's your birthday, after all, and your wife should be happy to support you whichever way you wish to celebrate it. You can always do something after the game for Chrissakes...... bottle of champagne, baby oil, need I say more?!

I haven't missed a home game for ten years, Oooops, sorry part-timers Impressive - seeing as how your club is only a year or so old

I have promised my boyfriend that I shall never make him watch Fisher v Sutton on his 30th birthday again He actually goes to matches with you then? My OH has been to one Don's match, and he only went to that one because he wanted to see the new Wembley Stadium on the cheap (Corinthian Casuals match).

He won't any more. We'd only been together a couple of months at the time. He hasn't actually been for ages, despite saying he likes it and that he wants to see me! Silly boy

A-hem! Going back to the original topic, i'd fully intended to go to watch my selected team, Heath Hayes, play their first ever FA Cup match at home to Shifnal Town, especially as the ground is all of 5 minutes drive away from my house. Unfortuntely, i forgot so that was the end of that little adventure. It was also the end, in a more profound sense, for Heath Hayes as they just did not perform on the day and ended up on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline. The Hayes goal came far too late to make any difference, late on already 3-0 down. So now i've ended up with a team, Shifnal Town, of whom i have no knowledge and even less interest. Had trouble getting hold of FA Cup results this week as the FA site seems incomplete, but Shifnal's website mentions an away match at Coleshill Town, who, by my Holmesian powers of deduction, must have defeated Tividale. Visits to both Coleshill and Tividale sites failed to get me the result of their game, but on visiting the former's site i was directed to their forum for match reports. This, for me, shows what non-league football is all about. One man appears to run this site. He has made 400+ posts and received but one reply. Step forward Alan Beckett, a type of Brummie "Father McKenzie, writing the words to a sermon that no-one will hear" yet he carries on putting up these match reports religiously. www.coleshilltownfc.co.uk/reports/viewforum.php?f=43&topicdays=0&start=0Maybe he will get reply no. 2 if they can beat Shifnal

Croydon live to fight another day, drawing 0-0 at Whitehawk. Replay on Wednesday. I too got frustrated by the FA's website, but the result had been posted on the Croydon forum.

Thank you, my darling. I thought we ought to have one anyway so people could check their progress without having to look it up. I'd have done it myself but don't have the mental or physical energy! I can't find mine on there
