Best wishes for those Tinpotters' teams in serious need of three points at home this weekend. Ha-yes really need to beat Fisher Athletic (aka Filthier Cheats) if they're going to avoid the drop from NS to the Ryman. And even then they may have to rely on Sutton taking points off Thurrock the Saturday after. We'll do our best. In the Conference, Tamuff need to beat Altrincham just to close the gap on them to two points. I'll then be hoping they can win at the Abbey Stadium - so that Sutton have an extra (coconut-scented?) trip to Cambridge next season. ;D

We have 3 matches left, all 3 are crunch mates now as 3 wins will give us the title.
This Saturday we face north ferriby, on paper we should win but things don't work like that in football as you all know. The Tuesday we travel to promotion rivals Witton, match which will be a big boost for whoever wins. The Saturday after we then have our fianl game, a game game against other promotion rivals Burscough.
Of the 3 Witton are still rpobably just about the favourites, currently top of the league with games to play. They made a sudden burst out of nowhere for the title. They did lose at Gateshead on Monday though and have a very tough game at Whitby this Saturday.
We are in 3rd but have been up there all season, our recent form has been poor though performances have been good, we should have won several matches where we got draws. Our 4-1 demolishon of Frickley Athleitc however suggests we may have turned a corner.
Burscough have been steady all season and gradually climbed the table, however they only have 2 games left and ahd a point deducted for fielding an inelligible player in their draw with Lincoln. It could well come down to our final match of the seaso nwith them though.
The way the fixtures have panned out makes for a very exciting end with no space for anyone to slip up. For our players when things started to go wrong it seemed to be a lack of confidence, they always did well in training and reserve matches. Looked on the top of their game warming up for a match and fell to pieces when it kicked off. The win seems to have inspired confidence. As has the return of Steve Pope, captain, defender, penalty taker, ect who has been out all season with a cruciate ligament injury.
Recent form for all teams has been unspectacular with both Telford & Witton dropping point in places the table would suggest they should win.
A team who have surprised are Hednesford. At Christmas they were in 2nd and right on our tails. After we beat them 1-0 on new years Day though they have fell apart. Their manager Phil Starbuck said we would blow up. While we have slipped a bit if that's blowing up there's been some kind of nuclear explosion in Hednesford, they were I thought going right down to the wire to fight us for the title, now they're languishing in 8th and looking unlikely to even make the playoffs with their recent abyssmal form.
At the other end of the table Grantham were relegated a while back, when we played them on the first day even though we drew 1-1 I said they were awful, perhaps the worst side to visit the new bucks head and they would go down. Seeing them down there didn't surprise me, what surprised me was how suddenly they plummetted and were down & out. radcliffe are also relegated now. The final space is Mossley's unless they win their last 3 games & Ashton lsoe their last 3. If they do finish above ashton 19th could still be relegated based on how many points 19th got in Southern/Ryman.
It's all going on in the Unibond this season, that said hopefully we'll be in the conference north next season.

Three to go, at home this week, midweek to Salisbury and finish up at Fisher.
The importance of this week's final home game - and the final chance I'll get to say thanks and well done to the chaps - is the sole reason why I have had to say, awfully sorry to Dazza & Frankie for a last minute change of mind re a planned visit to St Georges in a Tinpot Groundhoppy sort of way - this one is just too important to miss.
Three points Saturday and two draws should do it - playoffs!

Two matches left ,currently lying 18th in the Unibond Premier with 44 points. We are currently 3 points ahead of 19th placed Ashton United who have 3 games left although we have a considerably better goal difference. The 2 other 19th place sides from the BGB and Ryman Premiers are both on 42 points. We are at home to Prescot Cables this Saturday and I think that if we win it will be enough to keep us up. I certainly hope so as we are away at Guiseley on the final day of the season and I don't like the idea of having to get a result there. They currently occupy the last play off spot but have Matlock a point behind with 2 games in hand. Also our record against Guiseley over the years is lousy. All in all it's squeaky bum time again!

It's not in our hands anymore, we just need to win and hope.
Good luck Telford though, a trip to that superb real ale pub with the vaguely rude name that I can't remember near the ground will be some sort of consolation if they go up.

It hasn't been in our hands for four weeks but three wins on the bounce gives us hope of making the final play off spot on the last day of the season. Results have gone our way in recent weeks and if we win we need 3 more this weekend.
Here is the equation:
These three must take place: Worcester City MUST WIN at Harrogate town. Farsley Celtic MUST LOSE at Redditch United. Blyth Spartans MUST NOT WIN at home to Hinckley United. and finally one of: Hyde United MUST NOT WIN at home to Droylsden. or Hyde United may beat Droylsden IF AND ONLY IF Worcester City BEAT Harrogate Town by FOUR GOALS BETTER THAN HYDE'S MARGAIN OF VICTORY OR MORE.
Possible Anticipointment for City, but while it's mathematically possible, we hope.

Summed up Daza, quite simply. Win at all costs, then wait and see... Our fate is very much in our own hands - a win tomorrow in Salisbury will get us a playoff place.

If we win at Witton tommorrow we go top of the league. Win our final game at home to Burscough and we win the league. If we lose the final game Burscough win the league. If we draw then I think Witton win it aslong as they beat Frickley, if they don't we still win it. If we draw tommorrow we can still win the league if we beat Burscough at home, however Witton would have to lose against Frickley and that's unlikely. If Witton win then we are out of the title race and will push on for 2nd place and home advantage in the playoffs. The lowest we can finish is 4th if we get 0 points from next 6 and Matlock win their next 2 games. Then we're away to Matlock in the semis. We are currently in 3rd but winning our games will garuntee us 1st as the fixtures have put us against 1st & 2nd in our last two games. Basically we need a win tommorrow to ensure it is still in our own hands and we can still win it. It's definitely a very exciting/scary end to the season for us as anything could happen still. Personally though i think we can win both games, our previous good form seems on the way back so I think if everyone gives it 100% we can win the league. I'm not saying 100% we WILL but I'm saying we CAN and it is still very much in our own hands. Even though as I'm about to say elsewhere the prediction league has died while no one was looking I pedict for our two: Witton 2-4 Telford Telford 2-1 Burscough. I hope I'm right. Good luck to all the Tinpotters and their teams. We'll have to wait and see, wish us luck.

Assuming that there is an even chance of a win, lose or draw in every game (i.e. 1/3 chance of each), these are the chances of each team finishing fifth: Farsley 39/81 = 13/27 = Approx 48% Harrogate 22/81 = Approx 27% Blyth 12/81 = 4/27 = Approx 15% Hyde 4/81 = Approx 5% Worcester 4/81 = Approx 5%

Right.
I've been drinking beer so this is probably totally wrong.
Grays Pathetic and Halifucks both play tomorrow, if both win we are down, if both don't win then we have some sort of chance on Saturday if we beat Cambridge. Even then it depends on Alteringham not winning and one of either Greys and Holyfuck (depending on Tuesdays results) not winning as well.
In short....not looking good really!

Alrighty then, here goes: We must beat Hinckley We need Farsley to drop points at Redditch and Worcester to get a result at Harrogate To maximise the chances of this sequence of results hapenning we could probably do with Gainsborough beating Redditch tonight so Redditch need to get a result against Farsley on Saturday to ensure survival. Either way it's been a very good first season in the Conference North And we've done better then Sutton Utd

Redditch will stay up whatever happens.
Leigh play Worksop last game and therefore Redditch can only be caught by one or other of Leigh and Worksop but not both.
