Ha ha, brilliant - Apeman was my 11th song, and it's been stuck in my head ever since! I was just singing it to myself when I read your post

Blimey - someone who knows who Delays are! I'm a Southampton-ite born and bred so they're extra special! I managed to blag some tickets for their last home-coming gig, it was one of the best shows I've ever seen!

They used to be on Soccer Am more or less constantly. They're a national band and loads of people bought faded seaside glamour.

Well never having seen Soccer AM, I didn't discover Delays until 'You See Colours'. I bought that because of hearing 'Valentine' on the radio.

What's special is that outside of Southampton they aren't well known at all - they might be 'national' but most people have no idea who they are. And when you find someone who does, then it makes you quite... err... proud, I suppose, because they were 'homegrown'.
ps. some of us have never watched Soccer AM in our lives!

I'd not heard of them myself, and I've never watched Soccer AM myself either!

I know of them but can't say I could name many songs. I never watch Soccer AM either, it's either on during away travel time or extended pre-football lie-in time.

I don't get a pre-football lie-in any more: even when we're at home I have to be at the club around midday!

If they're on Sky television with viewer figures of however many million, they're well known. They're just a easy listening pop band, hardly something that'd you confine to Southampton. They've made it to both Newcastle (north east england) and Australia (A country in the southern hemisphere, where the bloke who owns Sky tv is from.) If you're interested. Me and all me mates know who they are as well as people on this forum. ps Don't care who's watched Soccer Am or not. Just stated they were on there.
