It is indeed sooo bizarre- you go in and it's a general store, then it's a tea shop and you see all the little tables there, then you notice people with pints and realise it's actually a pub...

I had a dream like that last night. Then a dwarf person of restricted growth approached me and intoned, in a deep melancholy voice "The end of the Worle is nigh..." Worle is actually a 'locale' of Weston-Super-Mare, you see.

And the votes from the Cannock jury are as.. ooops, sorry, Stafford Rangers' PSF are as follows Rocester -away - Tuesday 10th July Derby - home - Saturday 14th July Meir KA - away - Tuesday 17th July Nantwich - away - Saturday 21st July Walsall - home -Tuesday 24th July West Brom- home- Wednesday 1st August and the club are also hoping to go to Newcastle town at a date tbc. Don't expect to see me at any of them. The cricket season is still on and i jus' can't be doing with football at this time of year That [and Daza's above too] are an impressive bunch of PSFs. At Salisbury we're immune to the charms of Friendlies though, as our Management just doesn't try, frankly. But they seem to know what they're doing, generally! EDIT: Sorry, ISIHAC, that came across the wrong way, perhaps. I mean that we don't go for the big-hitting, newsworthy fixture with a large League Club it seems. The "Saints XI" might as well be a bunch of mathematicians or Latin Scholars for all we ever know...

There'll be a few Salisbury to join you too, Daza. Only we probably won't be spending long in Havant itself if the Pubs are still as they were last year....

Then you know what to do then! It's Jack's Birthday on the Friday; so we may be a tad wibbly, but the obvious choice would be a quick mooch around the pubs of Emsworth. There's several of them, see! Gales ales still available in some; a few free-houses too. Daza - you'd be more than welcome. As it's a PSF there's no real urgency or what have you so a mini-tour it is then! Shall look forward to it.

It's just whether I/we can convince our lot (which could number 10 or 20) to head in the opposite direction from the place where the football starts at 3pm! Seems almost unnatural - perverse, even! But will have a go.

Gales ales still available in some... Given that the brewery doesn't exist, isn't that impossible? (Fake Gales brewed elsewhere does not count.) Or maybe you're still enjoying the out of date dregs from some rouge original barrels?

Daresn't thee split'n hairs J!!
Gales is still brewed - and following the move from Horndean; the sceptics were invited to a tasting - and the great and good could not actually discern the difference between the old and new brews.
It is still there, and still tastes as though it's been home to several thousand woodlice in the brewing. I speak as a sceptic!

You are welcome whenever Amber - get in quick before a visit involves becoming familiar with some of the fine, fine beers on Widget rather than in Emsworth

But as malx has suggested it might depend on how many other hands I've got to hold on the tricky trip from Wiltshire to Hampshire as to whether we can make the detour.
